...Yacinr Brahini update, although I understand The Morror is not a reliable source;

Where did you get that link from mate as it looks to be an old one dating back to September?

Confirms what I heard at the time actually. We agreed 40m euros with the club, the player came over to Liverpool on deadline day from the Algerian training camp, then Porto changed the goalposts to 50m. Probably something to do with the 3rd party owners he currently has.

I think at the price and with that baggage, it's one to steer clear of.

Mikey I know you have been proven right with vvd and to a lesser extent Forster to but just can't see us going for Tierney. Think it's likely if we do go for a baines replacement it will be either Robertson or Cresswell or if we do go down the Steve Walsh route possibly sessegnon from Fulham. Walsh's comments that they are targeting the best 5-6 youngsters they think they can get shows they aren't scared of going young and paying the money (a la lookman). Still think we need two cbs too. Can honestly see us going for both vvd and Keane. No idea who we will go for further up but if Perez isn't happy at arsenal could see us reigniting our interest.
Pretty much agree with that tbh. Two CBs, Robertson over Creswell for me. Don't think Sessegnon is first XI ready yet but he's certainly one for the development squad. Think he may ne expensive though. Perez is a good shout. I like what I've seen of him. We also really really really need a playmaker.

Personally I wish we would for once go all out for a top player like Lacazette, get him in for £50 million and him and Rom would fire us into the top 4. Add in a solid CB in to partner Williams, an attacking LB to compliment Coleman and an upgrade on Robles between the sticks.

Lacazette: £50 million
Keane: £20 million
Heaton: £15 million
Rodriguez: £20 million

Total: £105 million

OUT:

Niasse: £8 million
Cleverly: £8 million
Deulofeu: £10 million
McCarthy: £15 million
Besic: £4 million
Jags: £2 million

Total: £47 million

Heaton

Keane Williams Mori

Coleman Gueye Schneiderlein Rodriguez

Barkley

Lukaku Lacazette

...I picked it up this morning but somebody else noticed it was old news. It appears he's now got an English agent so the article is old but that might put the move back on.

Hope not. Just don't fancy him, especially at those sort of prices. Kept a look out for him at the African nations, more to see if we dodged a bullet than anything. Algeria had a poor tournament and he wasn't by any means their worst player. But he reminds me of a Bolasie type player and, although he is badly injured, I think we should be spending our budget on an attacking player with different skill sets.

...I'm sure it's the agent change that regurgitated the story. No actual links, more that we might go back in but our interest might have cooled.
