Who shall we get lads?
A lot of posters seem to have lost the run of themselves looking to sign a GK 2CH LB cover for RB, AM and back up striker as well as a wideman.
That's the guts of 170 /180 million if you are bringing in quality.
I'd say the max we have to spend is 100 million net, and that's being generous.
That'll buy 3 maybe just maybe 4 players
If you look at what RK has said in recent months
I like to work with 17/18 players and then add young players
This was in the West Ham press conference.
Then Unsworth comes out praising Kenny and Bangingme after the Chelsea game
The last time he done that was with Pennington and he started the next first team game.
Unsworth won't release major statemenents like that without clearing them with Koeman.
Koeman also said earlier this season that he likes Michael Keane from Burnley.
He also said that Rooney would improve our team.
It's very rare for a manager to talk about other teams players so what was Koeman up to.
If you look at the squad without youngsters (I'm allowing Holgate and Davies as first teamers as they are regulars ) then you have

Steks /Robles

Coleman ,Holgate ,Williams

Jags ,Funes Mori Baines

Schnederlin,Gana ,Davies,

Bescic,Macca ,Barry

ROSS Lukaku Mirallas Bolassie

That's the 18 players In theory Koeman talked about.
So Lennon Cleverly Naisse McGeady Geri or like players to go so that's maybe 40 million
So with 140 million whatever he buys plus freebies will replace players in the original 18 who will be sold.
So I'd expect 4/5 first team players at least.
What's the point in buying back up when you can first team players and use your existing players as back up.
All in all a defining window ahead but I'm not expecting world class players but better than what we have , a couple of freebies and one or two unknown or Walsh specials.

We're not going to replace the top scoter in the league with a 19 year old don't worry. If he's genuinely being offered as part of a deal, maybe we have shown an interest in him already?

We are very short for decent strikers, we will be after at least two regardless of what happens with Lukaku.

I would be chuffed if we brought in Abraham as part of a deal for Lukaku (perhaps even Lewis Baker and Trevoh Chalobah as well). He wouldn't be in our first 11 but it adds to the Lookman and DCL young English attacking options. This helps us build a squad with massive potential.

I'd be very happy with a deal where we plunder Chelsea's best u21 players and use the lump sum to go and buy a top level forward in addition to boosting the squad

If we could sell Lukaku and bring in both Batshuayi and Lacazette, we'd be stronger for it.

It looks likely we'll go for another keeper - we should be all over Hart or Leno. We should've bought Hart last summer IMO, missed out especially if Torino were the only competition.

Not that I think Robles needs replacing at all, it just seems Koeman isn't convinced.

Not really strange Zat.

He was 19 at the time, and despite looking promising, hadn't scored tons of goals in the Championship.

Hence, while PL clubs were interested, they looked for more 'proven' alternatives.

Dembele needed game time as much as he needed a step up in size and stature of club. Celtic - under Rodgers - was (and has proved to be) the perfect move for him.

Regular game time at a massive club, playing with better players/manager than at Fulham, Champions League experience.

A sensible move for the lad.

True, it was a good move for him, but if I'm not wrong Spurs were in for him in Jan 2016 and pulled out as they wouldn't let him stay on loan until the end of the season. Then no other offers publicised in the summer...

He scored 15 for them in the championship and if I'm not wrong Abraham has 23 at the same age for a team in a similar position to where Fulham were last year.

Interesting stats...

Has he played a full international?

Dembele 4 u21 games for france and 4 goals (21 in july)
Abraham 2 u21 games for England and 2 goals (20 in October)

8 more goals in the championship (so far) for Abraham compared to Dembeles total last season)
