I'm not sure who's place he's taking in the team. At the very least he's the 4th best midfielder in the squad

Last season Tom Davies and Schneiderlin got 20 starts between them. Delph is better than both of them.

Like I said previously, I wouldn't be buying him. But he's a quality player for anyone outside the Top 6. The fact he's lasted so long at City alludes to his quality as a player and a professional. Wages and age make him less than ideal and I think a longer term strategy around transfers is required, Even if that means the rebuilding process is a longer game.

Aren’t we trying to get into the top 6, so maybe we should be trying to buy better than a player in your words is a quality player for anyone outside the top 6

And the reason he probably stayed at city fir 4yrs is injuries, not easy trying to sell an injured player and obviously he was happy sitting on the bench most weeks. Probably thought this the highest he will ever go, so sits there nice and quiet, picks up his 90k a week and picks up a few medals. And maybe plays the odd exciting champions league game.

At this point im beginning to suspect our primary target is Kean, and we are willing to put the RW position on the backburner this year to first get in a top striker. I think we are looking to do this by either taking a player on loan, or one of the couple available on free, knowing they wont be as good as other options, but betting we can get enough out of some combo of Richarlison, Bernard and the Loanee.

Yes I would take that too. Apparently he can play on the wings too. Maybe alongside Kean, Zouma, Delph and a right back for depth...
