I don't understand why people think Chelsea's transfer ban would make the slightest difference to us getting Zouma?
They're going to have the exact same squad next year, a squad Zouma wasn't seen as good enough for. He's not going to go back there to sit on the bench, or not even make the bench when there are other clubs looking at him.
If anything it makes it easier for us to get him because at the end of the day he needs to play and they don't need him. It won't be cheap unless he puts in a transfer request but it was never going to be cheap regardless of circumstances.
People in this thread saying they wouldn't spend over £10m on him are living in a different time altogether. The likes of Solanke have gone for twice that with a tenth of the career appearances. Zouma is still quite young too.
Gomes, Zouma and a work permit for Onyekuru would be a great start to the summer and be great for stability in the long term.
