To pull this back to what the current state of play is regarding transfers... where are we exactly?
Kean - Maybe but long shot
Jesus - Seemingly no
Neres - debunked
Malcom - debunked
Leao - debunked
Zouma - Lampard says no.
Wellbeck - just a rumour?

hmmmmm.....

forgot

Pepe - is that one off?
Zaha - maybe but an eye watering 80m.

I'm a big fan of Bernard's, but at this moment in time I would probably agree with you dave. Bernard's work rate last season was boss, some great touches here and there, but his end product left a lot too be desired. The problem is that sometimes we go OTT on our players (we do love a player who works hard) he now needs too add goals and more assists to his game (if he doesn't he'll just be one of those players most teams have who'll put a shift in and look good at times) but I honestly do think he'll kick - on this season and we'll see how good he really is.
TBF to Bernard, it is just fractions for him. He had a good start to his time here and all it needed to turn good into a great start was putting away a couple of sitters here and there.

On Albrighton: he's not a great player. Never said he was. But he has been VASTLY underrated on this thread. He terrified defences in their PL winning season. But if you dont have a name like Robben or Giggs it makes it all worthless, apparently.

How many of those wingers, are pretty much a foil for the full back to attack because that's what Bernard does, his movement, work and clever play elevates Dignes game to a new level, our fullback was one of the most creative in the league, all those you mention are the main creators in their sides.

Dignes numbers aren't sufficiently good to justify Bernard being particularly bad.

For example Perreira, Holebas, Azpilicueta, Bellerin, Doherty, Kolasinac and even Benjamin Mendy (who seemed to be out half the season) created more than Digne last season.

If Digne was our main creative outlet, putting up insanely strong numbers, over and above what is considered normal for a full back then you could make concessions for Bernards work ethic and clever running.

He isn't. And that's not me having a pop at Digne who is a very good LB. That's me saying Bernard's lack of numbers can't be attributed to an 'above average' season from Digne when the statistics just don't bear that out.

And you want us to be in that position? Yet complain about selling to buy ?
No, I dont WANT Everton to be in that position. I just want a team like they have: all comfortable on the ball, all intent on attack and a balanced outfit.

We are are a season or so off that yet. I have faith in Silva if he's given the players to work with.

Same

Ive had a rumble in the undergrowth.

Its definately SO ON.

I don't even have my newsnow on F5.. maybe later in the week.. players coming back today all over the shop so might see a little movement as they fly around signing docs and doing medicals.

No one gives a toss about the statistics though mate, because we clearly play better football when the two of them are on the left together.

We were exactly that for the last 3rd of the season unfortunatley we ran out of games. With a couple of additions i expect us to be better this season.

So why would you have Schmeichel over Pickford then? He's 7 1/2 years older. At least try to be consistent in your wumming, if you contradict yourself in your own posts it's no fun at all.

This is why I have posters like that on ignore, and it only takes a few posts for them to go on there too.

OK someone has to fill me in on the weekend of news. haven't been able to check anything.... any juicy updates, sells, purchases, or actual stiffness to some rumors?
