It was implied that hes Everton bound.

I personally dont see where he fits in, so I do remain skeptical, but we shall see what unfolds.
More BTB than Gana, but I think he'd also be able to play the holding role in the dozen or so games when one will be needed. Probably not as well as Gana does but then that's why PSG want him. He can also cover at RB if Seamus is injured or needs a rest. Overall he's also a better baller than Gana and so gives us more options.

Personally I think he'd be a perfect replacement for Gana and comes with lots of European and International experience too. Having said that I'd still like us to have a punt on Sangare. Think he'd become a cult figure.

Selling a player at his highest remaining value, granting a great servant possibly his dream move, for a young player with bags of potential but also enough talent to start for us now? Seems okay to me.

Well I meant more in terms of would £30m be worth it for the Mainz lad"

I've never seen him play. I don't cover any other teams other than Dortmund and Bayern and didn't watch either of them play against Mainz last season. And, frankly, I've lost interest in watching other games when I'm not working :D

I trust your judgement.

I don’t think many if any are saying that everything is fine, there are just some - myself included - that are happy to assume it WILL be. There’s two weeks left and we’ve shown we can get a deal over the line very shortly after the stories in the media break, so it is entirely likely that we’ll end up with a few players - perhaps even some that haven’t even been discussed on this dumpster fire of a thread yet.
There are definitely people saying it’s fine. Quite a lot of them actually, laughing at people who show the vaguest hint of concern.

I have no doubt we’ll sign players, we genuinely can’t afford not to, but I can see why people are starting to worry. We wanted to get some new players in to build on what we had, and instead we’re 2 weeks away from our first game looking weaker than we did last season.

I stopped assuming things would work out fine long ago, because they often haven’t for us. I remember being really relaxed about us replacing lukaku, but seeing as we haven’t yet, I won’t make that mistake again. I won’t commit either way until I know how the window ends, but it does grate when people give it the ‘marcels got this’ line when they’d never even heard of him until we brought him in.

File Zaha under Mitrovic. Probably mildly interested in him at best. Makes no sense as we’re never getting near that transfer fee.

Think selling Gana for £28m is too cheap, but presumably we’ve got a replacement close or we wouldn’t have agreed a deal. Got faith in Brands to have got a replacement sorted ahead of time. Big shoes to fill too. Not entertaining the idea that we won’t sign one because that’d be up there with not replacing Lukaku.

We let Kenny go out on loan weeks ago and still haven't got his replacement in at RB so no guarantee's we have Gana's replacement sorted tbf.

Oh sorry I understand now.

Before this Summer I'd have said £20m max but with the prices flying about I think it's possibly okay? He's definitely ready for a bigger move. I'd say there is better value elsewhere for that price (Samassekou at Salzburg) but these days whoever we go for will have prices hiked up.

Would I be happy with him personally? Yes. Is he like-for-like with Gana? Nope.
