Totally missing the point. It’s not about their attractiveness, it’s about *how* they operate. City’s operation is the gold standard and it’s not because most players in the world want to go there or because they can afford them. It’s because they have smart people all over the club running it in an utterly professional way.

You mention Sanchez; how many weird club statements did they have to release during that saga? How many times did their manager end up looking like he had no idea what was happening, or making veiled pleas to the people above him? That’s how we’ve looked amateurish: the club having to put out odd statements to the press; Silva looking completely out of the loop when asked about incoming transfers and what’s happening with Gana.

And we can clearly afford Zaha if we want and by all accounts he wants to come. So, again, it’s not about attractiveness. It’s about how you operate. There are clearly clubs worse than us. But to suggest that it’s something to ignore or, as you seem to suggest above, celebrate, is deluded.
I think you're the one who's deluded if you think City's operations in the transfer market have nothing to do with their wealth or standing in the game. Anyway I'm not bothered about City. They'll do what they'll do.

I'm only interested in Everton and, other than wishing we had a few more over the line, I'm relatively happy with what we are doing and the quality of player we are being linked to. As I said, Brands has a very difficult job to do, and given what he delivered late in the window last year I'm prepared to wait until the window closes before making judgment on him for this window. I'll say again that I don't think we have behaved anything like amateurish in this window, and if that makes me deluded all I can say is that it's an internet forum and your entitled to your opinion.

There is defo something wierd going on here with the Zaha business. We've been quiet all pre-season and not said a word about any stories and then out of the blue we deny a bid being made when all sorts of similiar stories have been floating around all summer. It makes me think the statement was made to ensure that someone knew we had made an original bid, but for the life of me I cant fathom what real difference this would make to any prospective purchases. It only makes sense if we were letting Zaha know we had actually bid for him. I'm sure theres some bloke stood on a grassy knoll somewhere in this conspiracy but who knows I'm probably just looking too deeply into it.

Some lad who seems to be clued in suggesting we may have enquired about Ziyech

Considering he rejected Sevilla the other day I’m doubtful he’d be interested in us but money talks I suppose. What a signing that would be though.

I'm sure this man is chatting wham but my goodness a true Ziyech rumor would not be good for my health

Someone backed Zaha at 20/1 to join us last week.
That got the story out there.
Like you say, shady deals..

But it's entertaining isn't it.
