I know some people might think its a failure if we dont bring in Zaha and Donkeroure, fingers will be pointed, what ifs all over the place and I know they arent top, top tier players, but here we are, under 2 days till the transfer window closes and throwing 50m and 60m pound bids in AOTS.

Different world from 5 or 6 years ago.

Anyway still all to play for, 3 players needed :

1 RB, looks in the bag
1 Wider, watch this space
1 CB

Thats gotta be the min for me, anything else is a brucie bonus.

It’s two more players, as the RB as you say is in the bag.

It’s completely feasible that we will add two more.

I still think it isn't always about buying top players.

Cahill was fantastic here, that Winaldump across the park is very effective for them.

I hope we have identified the players that will bring out the best in what we already have.

£3M? Christ, we should’ve just melted him down for scrap.

Irish Independent says 8.5
There was a lot of talk before about the structure of the payments so it’s probably 3 up front and the rest appearance related

If Zaha is happening, it will be Thursday. Putting my conspiracy hat on, I'm convinced that part of the Sky TV deal includes making these big transfers happen ON deadline day. Its a fantastic marketing ploy, same way they fabricate stories to push their own betting odds.

I mean, it just doesn't make sense that the number of deals that happen on Deadline day is multiple times the number of deals on any other given day. Sometimes certain teams do all of their business on the 1 day. It just doesn't seem likely that that would happen, with all the fine details that goes into every single transfer that happens...

Negotiating between clubs on a fee, negotiating between clubs and players on a contract, which are becoming more and more complex and expensive as the years go by.

All of the logistics in having people in place to have medicals happen, including flights and transport for players coming from further afield. Video packages, photoshoots and articles for websites, interviews with press, legal considerations, registering with FA/UEFA (the elusive dealsheets) etc, squad considerations, marketing, advertising, having reporters and other talking heads conveniently placed where the action is happening to be 1st on the scene. Scripting for the shows, TV graphics and visuals for Sky.

You have the best part of 3 months to do all of this and it all happens between 9am and 5pm on 1 Thursday in August?
