Respectfully disagree, but it's a game of opinions isn't it. My point was really that we've lost a really important player in midfield.

He was an important player in the 4-2-3-1 formation we played last season. Do you not think that the sale was planned for and that there may potentially be more of a transition towards a 4-3-3 formation which Silva has himself expressed as his preference?

Gueye has been excellent for us, but in some ways his presence has also hindered us at times. We've continually struggled to break down sides who sit with two deep banks of players; fielding such a defensively minded midfielder in these situations is counter intuitive. I would expect that without Gueye, we'll see a more fluid midfield three; not necessarily two players holding behind Sigurdsson.

Whilst he's been a great breakwater for us, he's set the tone for how we have to line up and play. His absence allows for change, and I certainly hope it will be positive.

Yeah I assume there's some change of approach coming, especially given we were in for Doucoure. My point was just that I find it hard to look at the changes we've made and say we're stronger than we finished last season. Defence was a real strength for us in the tail end of the season and we've lost two of the key players in the spine of the team. I certainly hope Gbamin turns out to be great, and Mina stays fit, I just wish we had one or two more quality players signed.

I think we are now reliant on Zaha, Doucoure and Zouma forcing the issue.

However, given their relationships with their respective clubs I think its very doubtful that they would rock the boat.
I think they would have done it by now if they were going to ask for a transfer.
I don't think these deals are happening so do we have a Plan B?

Well Zaha was promised if they get their valuation met (£80m) they'll sell him so no issue to be forced really if we pay a bit over the odds.

Agree with regards to Doucoure

Zouma I can't see happening. Would be an Everton player without the transfer ban.

It was widely reported that Kean would have a buyback, but it was nonsense. An injury prone player who hasn't played for 2 years and in the last year of his contact isn't worth £10m.

Yeah but the buy back was something juve actually wanted in the deal it wasn't made up. When the deal actually happened it was only sky who reported a buyback clause and they changed that a day later.

Your reference kind of backs up my point to be honest lol

Not really. We don’t know that Juve wanted a buyback clause, we only know that it was reported they did. That’s his point, that we don’t know which reports are true and which aren’t, and we can’t just pick and choose whatever we want to believe.

My own personal opinion is that we will strike a deal for Zaha but Palace won’t want him to play against them on Saturday.

We will get that other CB on loan from Chelsea.

Doucoure won’t happen unless he requests a transfer which is unlikely.
