My hot take is DCL/Maupay/Simms/Cannon would have been enough at striker without signing anyone if we had competent management.

But since we don’t we’re likely going to blow most of our money on the position and it may not even matter
What would a competent manager have to do to turn the above into a competent strike force?

Very curious

I think with Maupay it's one of those cases where both parties have to admit that it's a shame but it hasn't worked out. For his own sake it would be better to leave. But it does seem likely that we have sold Simms with little prospect of bringing in better

Did you happen to catch any of Everton last season??? Evidence strongly suggests that those options up front are poo mate.

DCL is not fit enough

Maupay and Simms are not good enough

Cannon is not ready to have the whole thing on his shoulders
Everton last season didn’t have competent management

I get what you are saying my point is if you aim just to scrape by it will eventually cost you, the club has to see regardless of the financial constraints we have to add quality we don't we will be very lucky to survive again. We won't get to that new stadium in the PL or likely a new sugar daddy.
Oh, I'm not saying that is the limit of my ambition, just that I don't expect anything more and am completely at ease with that

Your hot takes and even questionable regular takes which seem to have some heat to them are so baffling I think they're going to guarantee you a place on the next fox sports team coverage of the 2026 world cup where you'll be working along brilliant analysts of the game , stu holden and alexi Lolas also known for their horrendous takes. Have you observed Simms regularly in the championship or are you just going by stats from that league because in his brief appearances in the EPL he looked generally at his depth, yes he could still adapt but we don't have that luxury

For DCL, send him into space and have him crash land back on earth, so NASA pay to rebuild him and give him bionic legs.

For Simms, set fire to his shorts so he moves faster.

For Cannon, actually play him.

For Maupay, you would have to…well, maybe you could…hang on…possibly…no…no, I’ve got nothing. No one could do that.

This is beyond funny.

An injured player
A rubbish player
A League Two player
And a complete unknown

What could possibly go wrong
