Summer transfer window 2023

So this is nothing to with FFP (or whatever the hell it's called now) - It's purely to do with the owner pulling the ladder up?
One could be very cynical and hypothesise that the FFP problem, which is apparently a tax issue with the stadium, was deliberate in the knowledge that an FFP/P&S investigation would be a good media cover to justify not spending any money on transfers. It is difficult to believe that professional accountants would make a 'mistake' with the tax payments related to the stadium and it is also difficult to believe that Everton was deliberately trying to defraud HMRC. Maybe when it comes to negotiating a settlement Everton reluctantly agree to a transfer embargo. It may sound too conspiracy theory but i wouldn't trust Mosh as far as I could throw him

Players do seem to fade at an alarming rate at Everton and I do wonder why. Early reviews of Tom Davies and Mykolenko, for example, have not aged well.
That’s more about the fans than the club. Not in a Chico “it’s the supporters fault” type of way, but the natural thing is for new players to be viewed favorably. Mykolenko never really had it. Garner is the current one. We will see how he gets on this season but the reviews saying he’s some kind of special player on the ball are wide of the mark so far. He’s just not done a whole lot yet. It isn’t going to stop happening.

I also got jumped on for suggesting he was asset stripping us back in January. We need to chase this cowboy out of the football club. Enough is enough now. He will go down as one of the worst owners in English football history.
Villa will give you a bit of competition for that award with Tony Xia

Dont be ridiculous.

Martinez was the start of the downfall and for every good player he brought in, he brought in a terrible one.

He wasn't interested in sorting the defence, that wasn't his style of football.

Martinez needed to go. He would have relegated us.

If any manager in hindsight we should have been patient with it was Silva.
Big Sam should have got the following season just for stability if nothing else.

I do agree that Martinez was always a disaster waiting to happen but he did something well that we could do with now. He was brilliant at talking the club up, make it seem like the best place to play, all that. This transfer window a bit of that flim flam would be welcome.

I must admit I recognise myself there

My hot take is DCL/Maupay/Simms/Cannon would have been enough at striker without signing anyone if we had competent management.

But since we don’t we’re likely going to blow most of our money on the position and it may not even matter.
Did you happen to catch any of Everton last season??? Evidence strongly suggests that those options up front are poo mate.

DCL is not fit enough

Maupay and Simms are not good enough

Cannon is not ready to have the whole thing on his shoulders

Evertonians don't do patience...they arnt prepared to wait for anything it all has to be immediate.

protests will come when we're up the creek without the paddle (striker) later in the season, it will become very obvious well before Christmas i feel.

This squad surely isn't good enough. We don't want to challenge for 17th!

My view is like it ornot, we will be hard working, sometimes hard to beat, but we won't score enough, so the status quo remains the same, battle for every point we can, will it be enough? Will DCL be fit for the whole season, will he be able to have a good season with 15 or more goals? Will we have the creativity, at this juncture i don't think so. It remains to be argued / seen whether we will add enough quality this window to aid what we have.

We need change at the top rapid.
The protests will be too late after Christmas - we’re making exactly the same mistakes as we did before last season, only the squad is in worse shape than then.

Gambling on DCL staying fit is potential suicide - I hope the lad does stay fit, but we are going to need hardly any injuries across the entire squad, and we know our overall fitness and general luck can’t give us that confidence. Madness.

It’s negligence from the owner, chairman and DoF - they are unfit for purpose.
