Your hot takes and even questionable regular takes which seem to have some heat to them are so baffling I think they're going to guarantee you a place on the next fox sports team coverage of the 2026 world cup where you'll be working along brilliant analysts of the game , stu holden and alexi Lolas also known for their horrendous takes. Have you observed Simms regularly in the championship or are you just going by stats from that league because in his brief appearances in the EPL he looked generally at his depth, yes he could still adapt but we don't have that luxury
Instead we’ll have the great luxury of overpaying for an average player who will play worse than that due to the lack of competent management.

By all accounts they sold him because he wasn’t good enough.
Brighton fans I know are pretty fond of him and thought he'd do well for us. He was an important player for them as they were progressing from relegation battlers to Premiership staples. You could argue that we should have used him as well as they did once our positions were reversed.

I think we discovered last season that any real scoring success the team had was due to Richarlison creating space and chances through his skills. And they did nothing to replace that.

Dont be ridiculous.

Martinez was the start of the downfall and for every good player he brought in, he brought in a terrible one.

He wasn't interested in sorting the defence, that wasn't his style of football.

Martinez needed to go. He would have relegated us.

If any manager in hindsight we should have been patient with it was Silva.
To be fair to me, you’re only seeing half a post I started writing yesterday and forgot about 😂.

Anyway, I don’t think it’s ridiculous. Martinez, in no way shape or form was the start of our decline. I admit that it wasn’t pretty in the end but he still managed 2 semi finals that season only getting beat by city and united. So one amazing season and then two mid table seasons with very little budget (in todays terms) and a decent run in the cups wasn’t getting anywhere near relegation. In fact, I can guarantee that most would snap your hand off for anything even resembling that now, we haven’t even replicated any of it with a far superior budget.

Moshiri came in and should have given him the summer instead of bowing to fan pressure and sacking him. If truth be told, we got too big for our boots (myself included) with the influx of money and it’s been nothing but a car crash ever since, ending in the pitiful state we are now.

It’s been said a thousand times, Moshiri should have cleared the decks and started fresh, just like Newcastle have and we wouldn’t be having this discussion.

I agree with you on Silva though, he’s a decent manager but once again Moshiri bowed to fan pressure to the detriment of Everton.

Anyway, sign two strikers, a winger, a left back and a centre half and hurry up you quilts.
