Summer transfer window 2023

Does anyone else think it's weird that our transfer targets are never consistent? Like, we go for a player in January but miss out. Surely, we'd go for the same player in the next window? It's like we completely forget about being interested in them.

It’s ringing alarm bells if I’m honest

It smacks of us unable to attack any decent strikers yet we are selling the yoof off like mad.

We could, though. We were after sarr from Watford. We could've got him in january. Yet, we make no further attempt to buy him this window. I'm not saying I'd want him specifically, but it suggests we have absolutely no strategy and certainly no leadership from Thelwell.

Not remotely bothered about how small time another move for Danjuma makes us look, we aren't even shopping in Poundland - we're rifling through their bins in the car park, he has quality and gives us desperately needed options and is probably available on a dirt cheap loan deal. Signing him made sense in January and it still makes just as much sense now.

Gnonto would be a great pick up so I still hope it happens. Add to that someone like Amad Diallo on loan from United and you've got two players with unbelievable pace who can play close to the striker and our options will look transformed.

To be fair to me, you’re only seeing half a post I started writing yesterday and forgot about 😂.

Anyway, I don’t think it’s ridiculous. Martinez, in no way shape or form was the start of our decline. I admit that it wasn’t pretty in the end but he still managed 2 semi finals that season only getting beat by city and united. So one amazing season and then two mid table seasons with very little budget (in todays terms) and a decent run in the cups wasn’t getting anywhere near relegation. In fact, I can guarantee that most would snap your hand off for anything even resembling that now, we haven’t even replicated any of it with a far superior budget.

Moshiri came in and should have given him the summer instead of bowing to fan pressure and sacking him. If truth be told, we got too big for our boots (myself included) with the influx of money and it’s been nothing but a car crash ever since, ending in the pitiful state we are now.

It’s been said a thousand times, Moshiri should have cleared the decks and started fresh, just like Newcastle have and we wouldn’t be having this discussion.

I agree with you on Silva though, he’s a decent manager but once again Moshiri bowed to fan pressure to the detriment of Everton.

Anyway, sign two strikers, a winger, a left back and a centre half and hurry up you quilts.
i do think people forget how bad Martinez was towards the end of his time with us. he was too stubborn to change anything, poor defending, boring innefective football, playing key players out of positions. defending under him was non existent.

He had a great 1st season, unquestionable. after that he seemed to bank everything on the cup and didnt worry about the league position. I do think 1 more season with him and we would have been relegated.

he was the start of the decline but i agree when he went things could have been done much better. it was irreversible at that point.

Best we didnt agree to Rodrigos demands, cant blame the player on his last contract too.

Probably move onto prev targets now Che Adams & Sarr both have a year left and will be relatively cheap alternatives.

Danjuma will probably come in on a loan to buy
Those two are both rubbish as well. Particularly Adams. Should steer well clear and do some actual scouting in my opinion.

Trouble is we have no idea who we really are speaking to, most of it is probably made up click bait

As long as we steer clear of Elanga. I don’t think people realise how utterly dire he is.
