Very genuine question here. What would the reaction be to signing Ben Mendy. He is still only 28 and is an excellent LB and is presumably looking for a job. Does the accusation tarnish him so much that a club can't touch him or would be be an excellent free signing? The fact that he was found not guilty makes me feel the guy deserves to continue his career without ridicule.

i think the question is how match fit is he? he hasnt played or properly trained in about 3 years.

I get that and I know you can't judge fitness on a few TV clips but after court, he still looks a lot fitter than Rondon did. Even if it took 6 or 8 weeks to get fit again I am guessing he could build fitness again. Obviously, some medics and fitness coaches would need to check him out but if he got the all clear would u be happy to see him in Blue.

How many times did we hear Dyche say that a full pre season will be so important. Well any new signings aren't going to have that.
I'm looking at the first game, against Fulham, with dread. Not too many weeks ago they beat us convincingly. As of today, we are considerably weaker, and our coffers appear to be empty.

But they’re losing Mitrovic and against he was…. Er, never mind……

In our current predicament would rather we took a punt on Greenwood - kids only 21 maybe there is potential for him to mature/turn his life around particularly now he's just recently become a dad.

Think he'll know its last chance saloon in this country as a footballer based on what has gone down in his personal life of late.

Think he'll know its last chance saloon in this country as a footballer based on what has gone down in his personal life of late.

I am sure he would get flack from supporters but that is part of the job. Greenwood, although a great player, I wouldn't have near my club. He was not found not guilty, the charges were withdrawn by his girlfriend. We all heard the recording of it and I would prefer to see us relegated than offer him a contract. Mendy was found not guilty so should be given a 2nd chance.

Mendy on a free? Get his career back on track now he’s been found not guilty.

Problem is, if we showed a bit of interest but then said no, he'd try and enter us anyway
