Morning mates.
Welcome to the 18th July Everton transfer
show…..
I’ve tried to bundle together as many of the transfer rumours flying around, combining them into one bite size and heart burn inducing portion for your dining pleasure.
I make some apology for some of the sources and articles used.
Dan Plumley has insisted that Everton may still need to sell another couple of players before making any serious moves of their own this summer. The finance expert admitted that looking at the bleak numbers in Everton’s account, it will take up to five years to get back to a normal position again, including their transfer business.
“Given the situation over the last three years, it is probably still the case that Everton need to sell a few as well. Despite the sales in recent years, there are still a couple more that need to go, and it’s not a quick fix at Everton given the nature of their finances.
“It’s a three-to-five year to progress back so it is not easy.”
Everton have made a “rich offer” to Villareal attacker
Arnaut Danjuma as they look to seal another transfer, according to
Gazzetta Dello Sport. The Italian newspaper has reported in its print edition (18 July, pg 8) that the Toffees are facing serious competition from AC Milan for his signature, though.
Wilfried Gnonto could push to leave Leeds United amid interest from Sean Dyche’s Everton, according to a report.

Everton have made a £20million+ bid for Leeds United winger
Willy Gnonto, with a choice to be made for Gnonto between joining the Merseyside club or Aston Villa should he leave, according to
Sport Mediaset. According to the report on 17 July, Everton’s bid for Gnonto consists of an offer for £15.4million plus £5.1million bonuses, which would then be followed by a bonus of £8.6million paid to the player over the course of five seasons. It is shared that Aston Villa will have to eclipse Everton’s bid if they wish to win the race.
According to talkSPORT (via
Everton News), it looks like
Mason Holgate is nearing an exit as newly-promoted Sheffield United eyes a deal for the 26-year-old. The Toffees are keen to trim the wage bill this summer and Holgate is someone tipped to be replaced.
According to Football Insider, Everton have shortlisted
Mohammed Salisu as one of their top defensive candidates this summer. However, this outlet revealed that Monaco has submitted an offer for the 24-year-old to throw Everton’s plan into doubt.
Salisu is out of contract in
2024 and Southampton will most likely want to sell him this window to avoid losing him on a free next year.
Everton target
Anthony Elanga's valuation is being driven up by interest from elsewhere. That's according to the
Manchester Evening News, as the Toffees eye attacking signings in the summer transfer window.
Everton are eyeing a deal for Union Saint-Gilloise striker
Victor Bonifance as they look to improve their striking options this season, according to
Football Rover. The online outlet has reported on 18 July that the club were impressed by the Nigerian’s “astounding” goal-scoring prowess and versatility, and has already taken initial steps to explore the possibility of bringing Boniface to Merseyside this summer.
As more and more
rumours come and go about possible new signings, one current Everton player whose future remains uncertain is
Demarai Gray a move to Crystal Palace and Saudi Arabia have been mentioned. (various sources Sky/Echo)
Iliman Ndiaye's proposed move to Marseille 'could collapse', it has been claimed. The Senegalese forward looked to be closing in a move to the Ligue 1 side, having also been linked with a switch to Goodison Park in recent weeks.
Ndiaye appeared to be Marseille-bound after talks between the French club and Sheffield United progressed, though
Fabrizio Romano has now stated a deal is 'getting difficult' and could fall through.
