Funny, "Dia" is actually God in Irish. No joke. We are signing God. Arsenal can have His son, we are going for the main man Himself. That name Dia puts the fear of god into me only we could get rid of Maupay and end up With a Dia but I’d take the gamble even if it was 57 year old Ali Dia
Think it's purely based on the Burnley connection and maybe that he's probably available on a free.….I’ve never seen us linked to Weghorst yet he gets a lot of mentions on here.
Defo in the race mate, unfortunately just not got the clout at the moment.I’m not sure it was ever really a race, they turned up with blocks and spikes. We turned up with a sack, an egg and spoon
Are we still close Al!!
Everton and Wolverhampton Wanderers are joined by other European clubs in the race to sign İstanbul Başakşehir FK goalkeeper Deniz Dilmen, according to Sporx.
The 18-year-old came up through the ranks of the Turkish club’s youth system and made his first team towards the end of last season, in his side’s 3-2 win over Adana Demirspor on June 3rd.
After his senior debut, Başakşehir manager Emre Belözoğlu heaped praise on the stopper desired by Everton, Wolves and others.
“The best goalkeeper among his age. An immaculate boy. He has to improve himself a lot. He has in front of him valuable brothers like Volkan and Muhammed. They also help him a lot. We think that we will bring a very important goalkeeper for Turkish football,” Sporx quoted Belözoğlu as saying.
The teenager’s fine form, profile and potential for growth has drawn the attention of the Premier League duo, Villarreal and AC Milan. It’s stated these four clubs ‘will start official contacts’ with İstanbul Başakşehir to sign him.
Sporx further claims Everton, Wolves and other two clubs want to take advantage of the fact that he has a year left on his deal.
Aware of the interest from the European clubs, the report explains that Dilmen’s employer are trying to tie him down to an improved three-year deal.
It’ll be interesting to see how this case develops.

But he can hold the ball up, win headers, join up play and occupy defenders. Whether he scores or not he’s a miles better option. I’m certainly not advocating bringing him in at all mate, but his profile is far better suited to how we are going to play than Gray, Maupey, Cannon. As you rightly say, we need a goal scorer but we aren’t getting a decent one for our available budget or complete lack of scouting prowess. The squad needs upgrades everywhere, we are a shambles.I get what your saying mate, but at the end of the day, the player still needs actual ability to put the ball in the net. Weghorst does not possess that ability.
Did the same in January too tbf.I’m not sure it was ever really a race, they turned up with blocks and spikes. We turned up with a sack, an egg and spoon
