It's well known he's said stuff like that. But he ain't going to a club like that yer, and if he does, he'll be benchwarming.

Who is going to buy him? He is a great player but he is a striker and his best PL season was 15 goals. As Villa has money and can simply refuse to sell him unless our valuation is met he won't be sold unless a team comes up with 80m+. He doesn't have the goals record for an elite team and no other team is going to cough up the 80m+ that would be required. He also appears happy at Villa, his career is progressing, and he can now play in Europe (albeit the lowest ranked European competition) I think it is very easy to see why he is still a Villa player, it is surprising you have no idea.
All those points you raised doesn't explain why our forwards have been stripped from us.

If Watson was at Everton he'd have been sold off by now...and that's during good times as well as bad for the club.

Are these players that we are desperate for the club to buy actually any good. Every single signing carries risk unless you are buying a worldy. Bilal looks as good as Niasse did on youtube. So what?! Gnonto wasnt even a regular for a relegated team. They may both have potential and i m certain they are better than Maupay and the dreadful Iwobi. If we hadnt wasted hundreds of millions we would be buying these for the future and buying the likes of Barnes and Morrison for the now.

This club is just destined for the drop, we just can`t sign players that will improve us...

This squad isn`t good enough... even with Young & Danjuma.

We need alot lot more but with 2 weeks to go there is little chance we are getting anything else in before Fulham, Maupay will be our 1st choice for much of this season. August games forfeited YET AGAIN!

I think that goes down to what the objectives of the owner(s) of the club are and their view of the balance between financial return and football success.
