He scored 26 goals in the premiership for Brighton over 3 seasons.

Richarlison scored 30 over the same period for us.

Brighton constantly play Danny Welbeck who scored less than Maupay when he was there. We'd never want him here if he was offered.

Point being is that certain players suit certain styles. Maupay was never ever the right fit for us. That still doesn't mean he's not PL quality.

Like most strikers, he is good when the team plays to his strengths. We don’t.

He was good at Brighton as he was used mainly as a sub and not as a target man.

Probably not. Because we don’t really have a game plan. Half the time last season we launched crosses in at Maupay, then when we had DCL on, we stopped making crosses. We have players whose decision making is appalling and any game plan we do have goes out the window.

Brighton play a swift passing game and don’t really make lots of crosses. (Other than vs us when we forced them into it). We don’t have the players capable of that, so it will make no difference if maupay plays off DCL and we are always so deep as we can’t keep hold of the ball.

Just don’t post as if a goal has happened when it clearly hasn’t because lots of posters aren’t able to watch the games and it then spams the thread.

(And before you say you just reacted too quick), in the time it takes to write a message and reply, it would be clear that a shot wasn’t a goal).

Twas a one off joke during a boring pre-season friendly. Who knew we were taking a Bolton game so seriously.
