Summer transfer window 2023

So my ban has just been lifted.

Apparently me false-celebrating 'Get in!' against Bolton (when we infact hadn't scored) warrants a 48hr ban.

Kin'ell, remind me to never get involved in a Mexican wave at a pre-season friendly!

So no humour allowed but I can post negative, pessimistic content here ten times per day and be welcomed in open arms.

Got it.

'Everton are crap, proppa dire. Worst run club ever. Booooooooooo'

How am I doing?
That seems incredibly harsh. If we can't false celebrate we may never celebrate at all. Welcome back

"Legacy" issues.

It's why it's a bit daft a lot of people end up fuming when Che Adams or Nacho are thrown about. They fit our system and if we get them over the line, we're in a better position than last season.

As usual with most summer windows the tick box of resale value, age, mixed with experience or great scouting for the Football Manager heads completely forget about the reality the club is operating in.

Doesn't mean we can't take a punt on some Japanese wonderkid for a couple mill...but we're not in a position to be gambling.
What do you mean. Are you actually trying to convey, Everton are not really signing the likes of Rasmus Hojlund:rant:

Can we turn our noses up at the likes of a Che Adams. I genuinely don’t know what the lad is like as a player but we simply cannot go into the season as Maupay as the No 9 . He was wrong from the off and doesn’t and never will be suited to our style currently.
The only small positive I can see is that he could hold the ball up a bit, and can be quite good at bringing others into play. The problem is that we have a desperate shortage of goals and there is no evidence he would help solve that issue. You would be banking on him somehow transforming the overall team so that others start scoring far more goals, and I can't see that as being very likely.

I think at this point we are better gambling than using money to back guaranteed losers. Both those strikers have worse stats than Maupay.

The hope has to be that when the ground opens that Moshiri will find an opportunity to get his money back and sell up. I am sure MSP will want a return on their investment and they may well start looking for buyers
Damage already long since been done imo. You can't catch oil / State-owned clubs generally unless you become one yourself. Villa have done well to get in a world class manager and director of football, and that will likely improve them further this season, but even Villa won't be fighting for top four any time soon. Everton, well I think there are seven clubs that we have no chance of getting near in the next decade, as I can't see another State coming to buy us. There is zero interest in me following Everton in the knowledge that we can, at best, and even this is incredibly, fight for a domestic semi final and an outside shot at Europa Conference League qualification.

Hahahahahahahahahahaahahha

While it would be deeply demoralising if Maupay starts against Fulham, I'd rather the club take a little bit longer if it means getting everything lined up and getting the right player in. The future of our club is at stake here, and that's too important to rush things just to keep fans happy
