Summer transfer window 2023

If we're trying for Dia, I don't think it's because he's a player we think will really help, but rather we can work in Maupay into the deal because Salernitana have wanted him since he was at Brighton. They bid £15m for him last year.

Brighton & Hove Albion are weighing up a bid from Serie A side Salernitana for French forward Neal Maupay.

The Athletic understands from Italian sources that the offer is worth around £15 million (€17.6m).

That would represent a small profit on Maupay, who was bought from Brentford three years ago for £14 million.

The fiery 25-year-old, out of contract next summer, has been Brighton's top scorer in each of the past three seasons in the Premier League.

He scored ten goals in his debut campaign at the Amex Stadium in 2019-20, eight in 2020-21 and eight again last season.

Sky is reporting that Fulham have offered 4.5m for Hudson-Odoi. That would be 10m for Raul and Hudson-Odoi. a few years ago the pair of them would be close to 100m. Highlights the risks of the transfer market to a club
Yeah. Hudson-Odoi has age on his side but he does look like another player who got it all far to earlier in his career. He's gone from being the next big thing to being the next Demarai Gray.

Just a thought but what about Mason Greenwood? Yes I get his behaviour was disgusting that caused his suspension as a player but we do need a striker.
That would be about the worst thing Everton could do imo. Morally it would be wrong but the reputational damage to Everton Football Club would be huge. The association with signing him would stick for a very long time and would reduce your ability to get commercial partners.

Someone ask Al for some updates, get this transfer thread back on track.

I suppose that's a win win for all parties then and it should be an easy(ish) deal, if its true surely we cant mess this one up.

It's definitely true. Even his agent confirmed it;

Pastorello told TuttoMercatoWeb: “We had strong negotiations with Salernitana- then he went to Everton.
“There was a technical change. We’re at the end of the season, and we’ll see what to do.
“You see Serie A as a place to go – we will work to accommodate him. There will probably be work for him to do in Italy.”
