Its all to do with how the payments are made this has been made clear so many times in the last two years I don't understand how its not sunk in yet for everyone. We can't make payments up front and only a few teams will accept the terms we want to pay on so its not the case that just because we can agree a deal for 25 mil for one player that we can do the same for another one because not many teams will accept that 25 mil being evenly spread over 5 years.

I don’t think people don’t get it, it’s relatively common in football anyway. It has nothing to do with the point I’m making about N’Diaye, we haven’t been linked for a while which would indicate we aren’t interested in a move, not that Sheff Utd won’t accept our terms.

It’s pretty staggering that we are two weeks from the new season and we still don’t have a new striker in. It should’ve been done the very first thing, it’s beyond a priority.

Tete although not brilliant at Leicester did well in France for Lyon. He's a right winger and left footed would add good balance to the side. Main thing he's free. Get him in.

Sell Gray to whoever offers the most up front, go to Leicester offer them a small upfront for Kelechi they have a massive wage bill they need to sort, then use the rest to ensure that Michael Keane never steps foot on the pitch for us this season.

If we can get Boulaye Dia and offload that french circus midget too, then that would be great.
tete is a free agent? damn

Looking at how its been reported for the last 2 years i don't think its common at all not the way Everton are trying to do it anyway. Transfers get paid over time but it seems obvious that what we've been trying to do is more than the standard installment plans we are trying to pay minimal amounts to start with and not many clubs will accept it so it seems just as likely to me that Everton might have contacted Sheffield United and asked about terms but been told what they'd be happy with and known we can't get close to it and so thats why we're not linked now. Premier League teams are less likely to accept the terms we want because they have the income but teams in Europe and the second division might do.

The amount of money under discussion is fairly minimal. If a player is 20m and Everton wants to make small payments upfront followed by larger ones then I am guessing that they are maybe offering 5m upfront and let's say the club want 15m. So the difference is only 10m. Surely it would be very easy for Everton to finance 10m. Even if it costs 10% finance fee that is 1m over the duration of the payment schedule. These levels of money should not be stopping EFC making signings

too good to be true but fingers crossed these Italians are correct for once.

Wasn't all that impressed by the clips i saw, looked clumsy and a bit ponderous even at Serie A pace, but you cant really judge from watching clips online.

Anyone want to give a breakdown who've seen him?

They only bought him 4 weeks ago for 12m Euro, strange that they would want to sell him so soon but I suppose if they can flip him for a decent profit it may be seen as sensible from a financial perspective
They had him on a loan with an obligation for €12m. Lots of clubs in less wealthy leagues than the PL flip players like this if there is interest.

We've survived and did okay off 1 player getting 10 goals with 2 or 3 chipping in with 4 to 8.

Every club needs players who get 10 goals a season. Last season only City, Newcastle, Leicester, Liverpool, Arsenal, Spurs had more than 1 player scoring 10+ goals.

It's probably not about regularity of scoring goals, it's more about spreading the burden across the team. If we get players in that help others notch up an extra 2 to 3 goals as well as them chipping in... we'll be okay.

Goals arent the be all and end all. Leicester and Leeds were 11th and 12th for goals scored and were relegated. Wolves scored less than us and survived.

But it's an improvement we need to make.
Certainly need more goals from our midfield players. We also need more from our centre half’s from corners and free kicks.

Weghorst's record speaks for itself he's obviously a lot better than people think he is you don't score 1 in 2 for as long as he has if you're useless and you don't get that many caps for a top 10 fifa ranked team either people are just scared that them twitter accounts run by kids and posh boys who have never kicked a football will laugh at Everton for signing Weghorst.
Wout is this you?

He's scored 2 goals in about 40 games in the prem, must of which came for united, he is a pony and I couldn't give a rats arse what he did in other leagues, everton don't play in the Dutch league.

I'll judge him on what he's done in the prem, and the answer is nothing because he's chap.

He's had absolutely ages to identify a number of striker targets, he needs to get just one of them through the door in time and ready for Fulham. That really isn't too much to ask.

For sure we're paying on the drip, but that's what the last 2 months have been for, to find out who's willing to take the terms. Almeria were, he's chosen Atlanta. No worries, straight onto the next one then. No excuses.
It's as simple as that really. It isn't in reality I'm sure but then again our circumstances should mean we are operating in a restricted market, so the distraction of choice isn't there. The scenario isn't a shock to anyone, so it shouldn't be for them. The bar at this point is a pretty modest improvement on what we've got and a world of football to identify those players. We're not asking for a run at European qualification.

Need should concentrate the mind and necessity is the mother of invention. I think theres precious little creativity or flexibility in Evertons approach. If you don't learn from your mistakes, you are destined to repeat them.

Was going to Marseille for £17m. We were offering more for Toure
Supposedly, we are offering less up front for all our deals than a lot of teams from less wealthy leagues - which is the problem.

I obviously don't know, but I would bet that Marseille would be offering between £8 and 10m up front for him.

We are supposedly limited to £4m and that's for a striker, which is our priority position.

I don't know i'm not on the board and i'm not an accountant either but it obviously is stopping them from making signings even an uneducated man like me who doesn't use enough full stops for some people can see that.

Or a cynical person may suspect that Moshiri doesn't want to spend money and is making out like the club is doing the best they can but the market conditions make it very difficult to buy players.

so who will balance the books for this season

pickford and onana?

we going to a brand new stadium and can only play the under 12's

Possibly, who knows. My guess on the last set of accounts our wages to turnover will be just over 80% but we need to get it below 70% for when the new planned rule will come into play.
