We have to be careful with this if he isn't on the recruitment team's list though. Not saying he's a bad player - looked very good at Lyon - but he's being offered around by his agent. We sign too many players because they are offered around by agents or clubs that our owner or chairman is friendly with.

If he's on our list, fine, it makes sense if he is free, even if he struggled a lot at Leicester.
Easy call on a free. Young player, we'll get out with proceeds. If it works, fantastic. If not, all we did was gamble wages.

Make enough low-risk, high upside bets, and sooner or later some hit.

Doesn't matter mate, Benji (Bobbles mate) said the recruitment team don't get final say so these 2 won't be getting signed.

And if Che Adams is on anyone's recruitment team then they should be sacked as well.

Just on that, he seems to be trying to make out that no other team would have Kudus or EBT on a list or scouted in some form and the club should get some credit for at least doing so.

Tete on a free would be decent. But our fans will no doubt moan at getting a Brazilian international right winger on a free and scream that Thelwell isn’t doing his job.

Or the same people will scream at our ineptitude if he goes elsewhere
How many caps does he have?

Think ive been asking for his signature for 3 seasons now mate. Saw him playing in Europe and looked quality.
I agree think he's looked great everywhere apart from Leicester. Just think we've done it too many times as a club where we deviate from the recruitment team's picks. If he's one of them, but lower down the list or something, they should go for it.

I always get tetchy when agents are offering their players about. Supposedly that's what's going on with Adams and Iheanacho. We know our pustule of a chairman will be licking his lips.

Lovely as always to read these round ups

Everton are open to selling Amadou Onana this summer to fund the pursuit of a new striker, and the Toffees may well get their wish with Chelsea struggling to secure their top midfield target, Moises Caicedo. TEAMtalk reported on 19 July that the Toffees are said to have made the decision to sell the Belgium international “reluctantly” with the manager aware that funds are tight at Goodison Park this summer.

This for me was obviously going to happen, post their £70m offer being rebuffed by BHA. I really hope our recruitment team have actually had the nous to get a list of replacement targets for Onana whilst looking for their next rejection and then telling Chelsea that this is luckily the fee we are happy to reluctantly sell Onana for.

I’m more alarmed that the club allow leaks of this nature to be broadcast so openly , they must know it goes on yet these two( never heard of them before covid) are now dictating our transfer policy, it’s the symptom of terribly weak bored who now have a hat telling the world what we can and can’t afford
Do they have compromising Polaroids of you or something mate? 😄

No problem with you not caring for them or the quality of their info, but there's genuine vitriol from you every time they are mentioned! 😄

He got more chances to score less
Played centrally most of the time
Richy did a lot of tracking back

Though I agree the style doesn't suit him, I think you are comparing two different things there
Brighton fans wanted rid too
If he is PL standard it isn't as a striker

Not really. I'm comparing two players who fit a system then moved on and suddenly didn't fit in (Richarlison is basically a meme now).

As for "Brighton fans wanted rid". Maybe the case but surely that was to get a "better" goalscorer in? End of the day Glenn Murray is the only striker to score more than 10 goals for them in the premiership.

They still haven't got a goalscorer. MacAlister was their top scorer last season with 10...and he didn't play for a month after the world cup and a midfielder.

Brighton don't seem to be set up for a "striker". Maupay was their top goalscorer for 3 years as part of a fluid front 3. He scored more than Trossard and Welbeck. Welbeck still seems an important player for them who maxes out at 5 a season.

So you could be right that he's not a PL striker...but he's still a PL level player in the right system as he's proved that.

How someone felt that he fit our "brand" of football is mindbogglingly though.

An actual right winger? Left footed? On a free? Makes too much sense, will never happen (jokes aside he’ll probably ask for massive wages)
