I really hope our recruitment team have actually had the nous to get a list of replacement targets for Onana whilst looking for their next rejection and then telling Chelsea that this is luckily the fee we are happy to reluctantly sell Onana for.

If we sold Onana were left with Garner and Gana for the DM/CM. So, we already need 1 signing in centre midfield and a sale would mean 2 players.

Lets say we go down the English and young route and bring in Wharton (Blackburn) and Scott (Bristol City) thats £40mil gone.

Would leave around £26mil if we sold for £75mil.

Add that to what we have, which seems to be around £20-25mil based on El Bilal offers...and bring in a top notch u23 centre forward and it may be worth it.
 

We should be all over that Tete now, even after his lackluster loan to Leicester. Still only 23, was a really good prospect for Lyon. He's more of an out and out right winger, which improves the balance of the wingers. Probably less raw potential than Gnonto though.

Him, Danjuma and for arguments sake, let's say Iheanacho would be a decent bit of recruitment considering our lack of funds. Knowing us though we are probably faxing Southampton about Che Adams as we speak.

Yeah, I'm not mega concerned about that loan spell. Think unless you're superhuman like Haaland or whoever there's always an adjustment period, and very few January signings come in and have much of an impact. Even if it didn't go brilliantly the fact it's given him a start on the adjustment period could be viewed as a positive.

We had Bernard on a free and he was crap and unsuited to the league.

Just to highlight yet again that we currently have :

Garner, Gomes, Gmbamin, Gana, Onana, Dele, Doucs and Iwobi who can all play DM/CM.

No, I dont think most of them are any good at football, but they exist.
