While we’ve only made 2 signings and I hate the club for not being very proactive I think the 2 signings are smart business Danjuma on loan and young as free is very good, even tho Danjuma can play as a striker he’s not a natural number 9 which we’re desperate for. Just been looking at all the other squads and I think a few are weaker than they was last season add Luton who I think will struggle, sheff united also and Burnley will probably be hit and miss I think we can manage survival again for the first time I’m feeling optimistic. Obviously still a month to go in the window and a couple of good signings can make a difference for either team I’m hoping we can bring a number 9 in who can chip in with at least 7-9 goals with a few assists added and a centre back who’s steady not asking for a Vincent company someone like Tarkowski who’s pretty reliable and consistent, not someone who’s on the pitch and worrying waiting for a mistake which I do with Keane, Holgate and Godfrey add them in I’m hoping that will be enough to see us over the line, if dele can add something and DCL play a part and stay fit we should have enough or at least I hope we do.

As if Bill Kenwright is signing off on Yuri Alberto

Edit: as if we have the money also

Yuri Alberto after he gets off the phone with BK

No club is going to get every transfer right. Every single club has some really bad purchases. That just needs to be accepted and the recruitment and youth development needs to produce enough good players to make up for the inevitable purchases that don't work out.
Was talking about your spend m8.
Not ability wise.

Not really. I'm comparing two players who fit a system then moved on and suddenly didn't fit in (Richarlison is basically a meme now).

As for "Brighton fans wanted rid". Maybe the case but surely that was to get a "better" goalscorer in? End of the day Glenn Murray is the only striker to score more than 10 goals for them in the premiership.

They still haven't got a goalscorer. MacAlister was their top scorer last season with 10...and he didn't play for a month after the world cup and a midfielder.

Brighton don't seem to be set up for a "striker". Maupay was their top goalscorer for 3 years as part of a fluid front 3. He scored more than Trossard and Welbeck. Welbeck still seems an important player for them who maxes out at 5 a season.

So you could be right that he's not a PL striker...but he's still a PL level player in the right system as he's proved that.

How someone felt that he fit our "brand" of football is mindbogglingly though.
Richarlison got 1G and 5A in 900 odd minutes last season in the prem, that's a very good return
The meme is from his celebrations for goals ruled out by VAR which happened a few times
He fit the system alright
Unfortunately for him he had Son and Kane in his two positions, so I think you are being harsh there and it makes the comparison a moot point

It's true that Brighton share the goals around, especially under De Zerbi but Brighton fans wanted rid because under Potter he squandered too many chances
Still performed far better than with us, which I agree with and yes, it is ridiculous that we signed him
Whether that was Lampard because he admired him in the championship or someone else at the club scrambling to get someone in to replace Richy who knows!? But it was a terrible decision and I hope he's sold
Nothing against the lad, just want him gone
