Absolutely.

There is an underlying attitude problem with Gbamin though. I think the fact he is our player and nowhere to be seen says it all.

Who would want to buy him? Really?
He was set up to be playing in the Prem under a young manager going places. Ended up spending without any fault of his own long periods on the treatment table. Some players have the mental strength to deal with that. We have a thread on the forum of members posting about their battles with mental health issues over lost jobs failed relationships etc. Oddly we don't have much sympathy for players who may be in similar situations.

The uncomfortable truth is that DCL is the answer to our main problem, on the pitch. Brighton match showed this. Unfortunately, we'll be lucky to get him to have a run of games.

We aren't going to be able to afford someone that will score 15-20 goals ( I doubt DCL would even if he gets fit) so next is can he do other jobs like winning the ball in the final third, giving chances to other players?
Then how can he be the answer to our main problems?

DCL should be factored out of any calculations that have safety next season in mind.

As for fees: we were in this boat last summer and still wasted big cash on Maupay.

They had shown more at their previous clubs than they have at us. Keane & Maupay worked (to an extent) in the systems they were playing in. Gomes had won a league title at Barca. Gbamin and Holgate were promising talents. They've come to us, had their wages increased and seen their performances deteriorate, so they're harder to shift.

It's also possible that the people running our club are thicker than the people running other clubs ha.

Gbamin's just had endless injury issues.

No one is paying anything when all he has to show in recent times is 11 games for CSKA Moscow in 2022 and 20 games last season for a Turkish club.

I watched Gomes a fair bit at Valencia and he was always a hit and miss player in terms of mentality and that showed at Barca. Did well up to the broken leg incident v Spurs.

If finances were better then paying up contracts for both would be logical.

Believe it or not but plenty of clubs higher up the league have player like that, RS with Oxlade-Chamberlain and Man. United had Phil Jones for year never playing but that's just the odd player compared to the 5-6 in the squad here.

Which is fine,

but when there has been numerous reports about bheaviour while on loan, spending all his time in night clubs etc.

I'm completely despondent over that Dyche interview.

For me that's been set up by the club: send Dyche out there to deliver the bad news ahead of the window shutting. Manage the discontent. Hard truths being laid down to stop the build up of uncontainable levels of fury.

It's utterly sickening. The whole of that organisation is unrecognisable to me.

We are an at an all time low in terms of levels of optimism. This is a joyless slog day after day, season after season.

They are despicable people at Everton Football Club. I'm beginning to not care anymore.

I'm finding it hard to think why an up and coming, young player would consider us for a second. Struggling, penniless and with a manager whose name won't mean a damn thing to most foreign based players.

Still. Stadium blah blah.

…..that’s ridiculous.

The PL is such a huge attraction to aspiring young players. If it’s a high profile in demand young player with options then our status matters, especially when it’s BK on the telephone trying to convince him to sign but thats not the pond we should be fishing in.
