Keane did alright for a while when he first came in. In the England setup etc. I think his mentality has been a problem and he never had much pace so he needed someone athletic beside him.

Gomes was very decent until he got a horrendous injury. Gbamin never really got started before he got a horrendous injury so hard to know whether he’d have been any good or not. Holgate never quite made it but wasn’t expensive I don’t think. And Maupay, well god knows! I think we overpayed for Keane and Gbamin which makes things worse. And probably Gomes too after that injury.

I think there is definitely something in the setup there, an attitude issue or something in the club that leads to complacency or deteriorating performances.

It certainly doesn't seem like an environment that's easy to prosper in. Players come here and seem to get worse. When I was growing up under Moyes, it was the opposite. We'd bring in players who had lost their way or were rough around the edges, and it would somehow just work.

They had shown more at their previous clubs than they have at us. Keane & Maupay worked (to an extent) in the systems they were playing in. Gomes had won a league title at Barca. Gbamin and Holgate were promising talents. They've come to us, had their wages increased and seen their performances deteriorate, so they're harder to shift.

It's also possible that the people running our club are thicker than the people running other clubs ha.
Gbamin always gets a mention in this discussion but his injury was just unfortunate and it now seems to appear that a large number of our support thinks he did it on purpose.

Absolutely.

There is an underlying attitude problem with Gbamin though. I think the fact he is our player and nowhere to be seen says it all.

Who would want to buy him? Really?

Not sure what the point the story with dyche what is it meant to do. What do they think us fans will react and all say dont worry is ok the club is working hard and deals have failed. Is pathetic is no excuse this season to leave us again not ready for the start of the season. Hate this club so much what is the point this season

But he is better than Holgate, Keane, and Godfrey, and that's my point.

We have to try and build from the ground up. Get rid of the rubbish, keep the average, and then build.

We got rid of the average and kept the rubbish.

MY OPINION!!!
I thinks he on a par with them to be honest, I agree with your larger point but given the board clearly aren't making funds available reshaping the squad will be slow and not always the players you would to move on, sometimes the options are what they are.

Would dearly love to have Mina back on reduced terms mind and shift one or even two of the others, but if there are no buyers and we can get Yerrys wages off the books the manager and recruitment team have to make do. The board have dealt them an awful hand

So whats the Latest rumours? Dont make me call Horst.

The Premier for Iling
The sirens from the Premier would be sounding for Samuel Iling-Junior. The young winger is certainly a promising prospect and some teams across the Channel would have decided to focus on him. According to today's edition of Tuttosport, Everton and Aston Villa have targeted the player with the Bianconeri depriving themselves of the forward for no less than 25 million euros.

Holgate doesn`t worry me one bit.... more than enough cover for him.

I do agree we need more wingers, if we are selling Gray we probably need 2, Iwobi is not the answer out wide or in the middle.
I agree that he flatters to deceive...

We will get some money for him though, so if he is not the answer let's try and sell him and bring in somebody who can provide the answers.
