Summer transfer window 2023

....don’t get this at all. A young aspirational striker would jump at the opportunity of joining a PL club. They won’t be put off by DCL, especially looking at his injury record because they know they’ll get game time. They will be eager to be first choice.

Thelwell’s problem is he only tries for strikers who are in demand. These players will look at better options than a struggling Everton.

The club need to be clever and not lazy in identifying talent. Buy hungry young players who will be worth big bucks in the future.
I'd substitute lazy for scared. They looked to sign El Bilal based on a winner against Barcelona and an average season for one of the La Liga's poorer sides. Yet will never sign anyone like the young lad at Charlton who although it's only on YouTube appears to have what's needed to make a top level target man. The supporters demand a marquee signing and how many times have we fluffed that one.

Basically we're nowhere near bringing anyone in. Wouldn't be surprised if we don't buy someone for proper money, loans and free's at best, I think we are skint. If we get a transfer ban we really are up a stream without a paddle.
And, if we do get a transfer ban it'll be ideal for the Board for a couple of windows of non spending on players. Makes it even more important to get 3 players in before this hits (if it does).

Its actually one of the hardest things to do in football is get a good forward when one is already at the club, ive mentioned it before in terms of Alpha and Beta forwards - usually bar the CL clubs there is usually one alpaha and then a beta second striker - our issue is DCL is our Alpha - but doesn't play. Then the he budget, and our current profile.

Take Toure - Atalanta are selling their Alpha, so he knows going in, hes starting. With us there is ? whether DCL is fit. That situation doesn't help us.

Im not sure the club will een sign a 9, i think they will go with a wide forward who can play at 9 like Richarlision.

So for me we have the DCL road block situation, deals need to be structured and aren't that attractive issues.

We do need to hold our nerve for the right player, we will do business' in my opinion - im expecting three as i said and i think we will do that - if not ill join you.

But... if we were happy with our attacking options, we wouldn't be in the market for a striker would we? Surely players and agents would sense that.

Toure went to Atalanta because they're miles ahead of Everton at the moment. And a lot of the other strikers we're looking at belong to clubs who would like to see us put up more money than we can.

Not sure DCL is that big a factor in all of this tbh.

Its not that simple though, Mina and Coady could both be moved on without hassle, Holgat and Godfrey have contracts and need buyers found and deals agreed.

Personally would love Mina back on reduced terms but Coady is garbage
But he is better than Holgate, Keane, and Godfrey, and that's my point.

We have to try and build from the ground up. Get rid of the rubbish, keep the average, and then build.

We got rid of the average and kept the rubbish.

MY OPINION!!!

I'd substitute lazy for scared. They looked to sign El Bilal based on a winner against Barcelona and an average season for one of the La Liga's poorer sides. …not sure the supporters ’demand a marquee signing’. Evertonians know the situation, they demand an ‘effective signing’ & that’s not much too ask in a global market.

“It’s a tough market,” Dyche said. “There’s only so much that we can do so we’re working very hard — I can assure everyone of that — to construct deals that can work.

Asked whether he was confident of doing any business soon, the Everton manager added: “We’ll see. There’s no exact moment until it’s over the line. There’s been situations we’ve been in where we thought we were going to get it over the line and we don’t, and that’s the way it goes."

Horrendous.

I have absolutely no interest in hearing how hard people are working. That shouldn't even need to be said, it's not something to shout about. People work hard in every area of life every day of the year.

I want to see results and outcomes, and excuses mean nothing. Those comments are absolutely not what we want to hear, although it's not the manager's fault. He has been given absolutely no support.
