Its actually one of the hardest things to do in football is get a good forward when one is already at the club, ive mentioned it before in terms of Alpha and Beta forwards - usually bar the CL clubs there is usually one alpaha and then a beta second striker - our issue is DCL is our Alpha - but doesn't play. Then the he budget, and our current profile.

Take Toure - Atalanta are selling their Alpha, so he knows going in, hes starting. With us there is ? whether DCL is fit. That situation doesn't help us.

Im not sure the club will een sign a 9, i think they will go with a wide forward who can play at 9 like Richarlision.

So for me we have the DCL road block situation, deals need to be structured and aren't that attractive issues.

We do need to hold our nerve for the right player, we will do business' in my opinion - im expecting three as i said and i think we will do that - if not ill join you.

....don’t get this at all. A young aspirational striker would jump at the opportunity of joining a PL club. They won’t be put off by DCL, especially looking at his injury record because they know they’ll get game time. They will be eager to be first choice.

Thelwell’s problem is he only tries for strikers who are in demand. These players will look at better options than a struggling Everton.

The club need to be clever and not lazy in identifying talent. Buy hungry young players who will be worth big bucks in the future.

That shouldn't still be a situation anymore though. Until he proves a sustained period of fitness he is our no2 striker. If Kenwright or whoever are going into negotiations telling prospective signings they still may have to be backup to a crocked player then no wonder nobody will sign for us.

I can’t believe that people are getting wound up about dyche giving a standard answer to a question that doesn’t even say anything different to what we all know anyway! I also can’t believe that people think it’s difficult to attract a striker because we’ve already got one who had one good season three years ago and it scares them off!

Absolutely agree; should have kept both of them and sold the other three.

4.5M for Coady was a good deal...

We are a weird club.
Its not that simple though, Mina and Coady could both be moved on without hassle, Holgat and Godfrey have contracts and need buyers found and deals agreed.

Personally would love Mina back on reduced terms but Coady is garbage
