You see, I thought that too but from what I've seen of Krauss and just read about Martinez (never seen him play), they don't win that ball back anywhere near as much as Gueye.

Gana is a ball winner and a press machine. Hes ill suited to being a DM.

Is anyone else annoyed that we sold £80m of players in January alone (Gordon and Kean) and are still being told we have no money to spend?

The only people saying that are on this forum.

Two of our three best CBs from last season walked out the door, while Keane, Godfrey and Holgate cling on. I’m not sure we can just assume Jarrad hits the ground running and the other three we know we can’t trust so suspect we’ll need to bring one in. Unless we have another freebie up our sleeves it’ll cost more than the 4m Coady would have so just hope we don’t spread the budget too thin.
Clearly we are going to have to make some additions. I think there is a view where the club is maybe being sensible. They have very juxtaposed timelines on the backline. Tark is not a viable longterm option, Keane likely walking off as an expiring. Now entering their primes Godfrey and Holgate have stagnated. The likes of Branthwaite in relation to upside is about it under 23. Bringing in more in that vein would be wise in a vacuum as none of those above names are assuringly projectable in play or in recouping transfers besides Jarrad.

Another angle in this is I have thought about is MSP. Augsburg that they have shares in have two Centerbacks in Felix Uduokhai and Reece Oxford I wouldn't be shocked get a prem move. Possible in line deal through two clubs they having ownership is interesting to speculate? Uduokhai especially is an interesting option. Modern back, progressive, left footed with also a knack for goals. And Oxford has improved in Germany.

Beyond that though this is a rough running list I personally think worth looking into.

Zeno Debast, 18, Belgium, Anderlecht 10 million

Anthony Rouault, 22, France, Toulouse, 8 million (maybe my favorite target)

Alessandro Buongiorno, 23, Italy, Torino, 8 million

Maxime Estève 21, France, Montpellier, 5 million

Sam Beukema 24, Holland, AZ, 3 million

I agree with this. Adding goals to the team may prove tough though as that's the part that usually requires a lot of money.
Yes. But literally any incomings on that front will be better than what've had this season.

Also, I'm very heartened that since Dyche came in he adapted a lot of our players and their belief that they can get goals too. That wont be forgotten next season. I expect our GS to be way above 34 next season, that's for sure. If we get a forward or two who can add 7/8 each then we'll be fine.

I'm annoyed that the club has not been able to develop and stick to any form of footballing strategy on and off the field for the past 6 years.

I'm annoyed that we've continually flip-flopped between managers, each time giving them input into the player recruitment to best fit their system before sacking them and leaving Everton with a pool of players unsuited to the new manager's systems or not wanted by the new managers.

I'm annoyed that Moshiri's appalling ownership model has effectively spaffed £500m up the wall and the club is in a worse place than it was before he arrived.

I'm annoyed that Everton are facing FFP sanctions because of all of the above points and as such the club are having to sell players to ensure that they can edge closer to financial parity, further diminishing the progress of the club

Don't forget that we'll have to sell anyone who will attract a decent fee to ensure that we make some positive moves financially.
I imagine the rage from several on here and twitter when we sell someone for £40m+ and reinvest in cheap or free more workmanlike players will be palpable.

Someone's always raging about something.

Fair enough…I did say it would be unpopular, I’m just not sure we have the money for that who have the require quality or potential. BTW Vardy has never struck me as the type of personality who just goes through the motions
I wasnt having a go i just dont think we need to be signing players past their best. With regards to not having the money for that isnt that what the dofs role is? Unearthing talent with potential doesnt necessarily mean spending huge sums. Other clubs seem to find them so why cant we?

he wasn't ever even close to being that good though.

big stupid donkey on about a quarter of a mill a week, even for a club as stupid as us in the market, this would top anything
HA! Slabhead Maguire "one of the best in the Prem" 😂 😂 He's a walking calamity that makes Mick Keggers look like Baresi competent. Genuinely one of the worst CBs I've seen. We're doomed if those two jokers line up side by side at the back next season.
