Summer transfer window 2023

I totally get all that, but this will be the 3rd summer in a row that we'll have little or nothing to spend despite raising huge sums through selling players. When will we be allowed to spend money again?
The short answer to that is it depends on the accounts and finance investigation. Chances are, it'll probably be a lean year again and then once at BMD we'll be in a better position to spend.

There will be some money to spend this year, but we surely need to be economical with it. We've players out of contract coming off the books and if the likes of Alli and Gomes and Gbamin can be moved on there'll be a bit more to play with, but further sales asside, I'd expect spending this year to be no more than last year, at best.

Dyche has said the squad is not balanced so I think there is still another CB to go out so he ends with 4 senior (including Jarrad) and a young CB.
He will want any money to go on full backs

….Dyche had Reece Welch on the bench a fair bit, including Sunday.

He’s a terrific size, he looks to tower over Simms in that ‘Tunnel Access’ video from the weekend but I saw him bullied out of a game against United U21 some time back and I worry about his competitiveness. Saying that, at just 19 he’s even younger than JB.

I'd genuinely think we'd be mad to not absolute ravage this list of players and look to bring in 6 or 7 of them if they're available. Could very easily fill a lot of needed positions, such as left back, backup CBs and midfield, most importantly though attacking wide players. Pay good money for an out and out striker, fill the rest with decent loans and frees. Even someone like Dembele from Lyon is a no brainer for us at the minute.

Honestly I don't think there is any player in our current squad that I'd be gutted if they were moved on... but there are at least 6 that I'd be delighted if we got them off the books. I'm guessing I'm in the majority here too.

That's the state we are in.

I'd be close to being furious if we sold any of Onana, Garner or Branthwaite also id include Patterson if not for his injuries.

Those 4 have all the tools to reach the top.

I think this is what people don’t get. Vardy is not a great shout by any stretch (and I suggested him tentatively) and if we had options coming out of ears and the financial backing we would look elsewhere but for low wages on a short term contract, and to give us another style of attacking threat albeit infrequently, it maybe worth the punt and this is exactly where Everton are….it’s not a transfer window…it’s a punt window and has been for the last three or four years. He is better than Gray and Maupay - yes not a high bar, but any improvement incrementally has to be looked at. It would at least make our budget go further for other players.
Mate, me and you. Let's die on this hill together. Screw the forum fancy Dan's and hipsters. It's an option that isn't that bad. In our heads anyway 😄

1 year apart but about 10 years apart physically.

Clearly we are going to have to make some additions. I think there is a view where the club is maybe being sensible. They have very juxtaposed timelines on the backline. Tark is not a viable longterm option, Keane likely walking off as an expiring. Now entering their primes Godfrey and Holgate have stagnated. The likes of Branthwaite in relation to upside is about it under 23. Bringing in more in that vein would be wise in a vacuum as none of those above names are assuringly projectable in play or in recouping transfers besides Jarrad.

Another angle in this is I have thought about is MSP. Augsburg that they have shares in have two Centerbacks in Felix Uduokhai and Reece Oxford I wouldn't be shocked get a prem move. Possible in line deal through two clubs they having ownership is interesting to speculate? Uduokhai especially is an interesting option. Modern back, progressive, left footed with also a knack for goals. And Oxford has improved in Germany.

Beyond that though this is a rough running list I personally think worth looking into.

Zeno Debast, 18, Belgium, Anderlecht 10 million

Anthony Rouault, 22, France, Toulouse, 8 million (maybe my favorite target)

Alessandro Buongiorno, 23, Italy, Torino, 8 million

Maxime Estève 21, France, Montpellier, 5 million

Sam Beukema 24, Holland, AZ, 3 million
I'm sold !
