I have a feeling fans are not going to be happy with the names and profile of player we go for.

We need to trust the process now and let the manager build his squad.

I have a feeling we could bring in an older target man to help DCL out....a player happy to not play every week, but is good eough to fill the void left by DCL when he is out. They are hard to get hold of.

There's a process? That sounds like it involves planning & investigation.

Clearly we are going to have to make some additions. I think there is a view where the club is maybe being sensible. They have very juxtaposed timelines on the backline. Tark is not a viable longterm option, Keane likely walking off as an expiring. Now entering their primes Godfrey and Holgate have stagnated. The likes of Branthwaite in relation to upside is about it under 23. Bringing in more in that vein would be wise in a vacuum as none of those above names are assuringly projectable in play or in recouping transfers besides Jarrad.

Another angle in this is I have thought about is MSP. Augsburg that they have shares in have two Centerbacks in Felix Uduokhai and Reece Oxford I wouldn't be shocked get a prem move. Possible in line deal through two clubs they having ownership is interesting to speculate? Uduokhai especially is an interesting option. Modern back, progressive, left footed with also a knack for goals. And Oxford has improved in Germany.

Beyond that though this is a rough running list I personally think worth looking into.

Zeno Debast, 18, Belgium, Anderlecht 10 million

Anthony Rouault, 22, France, Toulouse, 8 million (maybe my favorite target)

Alessandro Buongiorno, 23, Italy, Torino, 8 million

Maxime Estève 21, France, Montpellier, 5 million

Sam Beukema 24, Holland, AZ, 3 million
Problem is our scouting team have probably never heard of them mate.

Don't forget that we'll have to sell anyone who will attract a decent fee to ensure that we make some positive moves financially.
I imagine the rage from several on here and twitter when we sell someone for £40m+ and reinvest in cheap or free more workmanlike players will be palpable.
Sell SOMEONE for 40mil? How many have these have we got and where are we hiding them?

Dyche already has his targets. He basically said so after the game that he was planning the minute he got here

And none of us have a clue

What i have noticed, he is very hesitant and not sure footed about when he speaks in my opinion is on the fan base and the big club "moniker" - he's always very keen to emphasise each and mention "try and play good football" - i think he will be cautious of this and will come into his thought process mate.

I'm annoyed that the club has not been able to develop and stick to any form of footballing strategy on and off the field for the past 6 years.

I'm annoyed that we've continually flip-flopped between managers, each time giving them input into the player recruitment to best fit their system before sacking them and leaving Everton with a pool of players unsuited to the new manager's systems or not wanted by the new managers.

I'm annoyed that Moshiri's appalling ownership model has effectively spaffed £500m up the wall and the club is in a worse place than it was before he arrived.

I'm annoyed that Everton are facing FFP sanctions because of all of the above points and as such the club are having to sell players to ensure that they can edge closer to financial parity, further diminishing the progress of the club

Interesting to see what strategy will be employed with the limited cash we will have available. Sadly we gave got ourselves into a position where I think we will have to be extremely risk adverse for the next couple of seasons which will mean steady Eddy unimaginative signings.

I am a Dyche supporter and feel he is the right manager for us at this stage but his pragmatic rather than progressive reputation will be a hindrance when trying to recruit younger high potential players. The representatives for these players want to place them with football teams that play a progressive style to set them up for a future move to a CL club.

Expect the links to Che Adams to resurface

It's exactly because we DO have Keane, Holgate and Godfrey that we didn't sign Coady. With Branthwaite coming back we'd have had six senior centre backs, which for a team in financial trouble makes no sense. If we were able to off load two of Keane, Holgate and Godfrey, I could see even see us goig back for Coady, but that being said Dyche didn't seem a fan.

I also have to admit that while Keane is still far from great, Dyche seems to get more out of him than any other manager. He played better this year under Dyche than he has in ages. Ideally that would have encouraged someone to come in for him, but if nothing else, it means that we should be less worried if he is the back-up.

Then why was he dropped for the relegation run in ?

He was crap.

I have major questions about our DoF but Thellwell's recruitment has been a little more holistic with an eye to the future, if at least financially astute given the restrictions. He may not be all that great in fairness but if this club gives Dyche carte blanche to dictate business we are utterly diabolical. That's repeating insanity in maybe the most costly way considering Dyche's specificity, the ceiling on such a style and recruitment history. The transfers cannot placate to a single managers vision. Almost no club does that. It's gone disastrously for us and is a huge reason we are where we are today.

Is anyone else annoyed that we sold £80m of players in January alone (Gordon and Kean) and are still being told we have no money to spend?
Except it may not be quite as simple as that. The club have posted massive losses for a number of years and are currently under investigation over said finances, so the Gordon & Kean money may be needed on the accounts to address that situation, not necessarily be sat in some transfer warchest for more spending.

I totally get all that, but this will be the 3rd summer in a row that we'll have little or nothing to spend despite raising huge sums through selling players. When will we be allowed to spend money again?

Yes I agree, I particularly enjoyed him getting turned inside out against Newcastle.

On top of that, the large amount of goals we conceded whilst he was back in the team was also an enjoyable contribution
