We should not be skint.... I think all that money is being used for the stadium, which should have been the MSP money, the money from MSP will now go to our transfer fund except MSP isn`t happening now, quite clearly, we were told this was going to be completed weeks ago so what has changed? Why has it gone quiet all of a sudden?

Didn’t Myers mention it actually taking up to 6 weeks for MSP to complete? Someone did.

I’ve lost interest in the structure of their investment, but their eventual ownership % would have been calculated based on a specific balance sheet position. Lobbing millions of cash out of that balance sheet and swapping it for initial payments for new players may complicate matters until completion. It may not even be permitted under the terms of the deal.

I’ve been involved in a lot of acquisitions, some massive. During the more complex ones that drag on, there is no way the company we are acquiring would go out and spend £25mill on land and buildings etc just before completion. Just can’t happen as we’d be buying a totally different looking balance sheet. Players are fixed assets so it’s vaguely similar.

That said, we all thought the cash taps would be opened when the new accounting period started on 1st July and all we’ve seen is a free pensioner, a loan of someone who buggered up our last transfer window and a few supposed near misses.

May also be hampered by the investigation. If there is even a chance we get penalised, it’s another excuse not to empty the coffers, possibly sensibly. Hopefully we just get banned from next seasons Champions League, which would be harsh but fair.
 

Honestly, people need to stop treating Myers as an in the know because he isn't. He gets his info from the interwebs like the rest of us but posts it like he knows an insider. When we do make a signing he is usually 2 days too late with it.

If he says he isn't aware of any signings it means absolutely zilch.
