Summer transfer window 2023

I think it’s a bit unfair laughing at people who believed that seeing as the reason I came back to this site was I saw a post from the Grand Old Team twitter account saying toffeenut had been right about young and had now said we were after ihenacho so it can’t have been very obvious he was joking if the site owners didn’t realise!

When’s he ever joked about a name or made Cockney rhyming slang about one before?

When we've lost the first three and are playing catch up from the start (again)
We have tougher fixtures after the window closes,we have actually been given as reasonable start as we could have hoped for fixture wise to actually get some points on the ladder, obviously the numbnuts in charge have this totally covered as can be seen by their “actions” this summer🙄

So why would anyone be stupid enough to pay their Premier League wages?
We can at least subsidise them. Or are we literally the only pathetically stupid club out there? Us paying £25k a week if somebody will take these players on loan with an obligation to buy under certain conditions is better than us paying them £50k plus a week and them barely even making the squad.

I don’t know I dip in and out on here so I didn’t see his post and I’m not sure what he normally says I just saw the grand old team account was tweeting about it saying that’s what he was saying so it must have been believable.

The very simple thing I don’t understand is where has the money gone that we’ve already offered to others? For example there’s already been massive players off the wage bill, in Mina and Coady especially, we offered Davies a new deal and we had a deal agreed for Toure.

There’s conservatively at least £30m of fees and well in excess of £250k a week, both of which we were happy to part with already. So where is the proof of it? Doesn’t even take into account the £70m in sales from Gordon and Kean, as well as Moshiri publicly bidding £40m for Conor Gallagher in January.

I’m not someone who thinks deals can be completely done start to finish over a few days but Christ alive, we’re going into August and we’re no closer on filling a gap in the squad that has been in need of addressing for literally at least 2 years minimum. Genuinely get anyone, Weghorst, Wood, Adams, whoever, the fact that we’re literally close to no one is incredibly alarming.

It’s one thing to bring in a crap player but we don’t seem to be looking at anyone. We’ve been almost relegated two seasons on the bounce, have no player that’s scored double digits in that time and we’re going into August having signed a 38 year old left back on a free transfer.

How is this club not genuinely being investigated for gross mismanagement?!

I also don't understand the loan with obligation offers we apparently made in January and last summer, even if one had been accepted we'd have been paying 20-30m this summer given the fees that were mentioned. Where is the money we thought we were going to have?
