Im not buying these stories, personally.

Bills PR team are working overtime currently.

Again, not saying we can spend what we like, but theres plenty of deals to be done.

Fair. I genuinely think with Usmanov bolting and Moshiri trying to fund the stadium himself, the money is tied up. I don't think it's solely FFP reasons we're not spending, moreso that we haven't a pot to piss in thus recruitment team trying to work a miracle with the limited budget they've been given.

This is the glaringly obvious elephant in the room.

Any reasonably well run club in the PL will leave us behind this season.

We are labouring to 1-0 wins against the likes of Stoke and Wigan, while all of the teams in our immediate future are getting valuable minutes against tough opposition.

We might finish just outside the bottom 3 if we are lucky and that will be down to how Dyche sets us up, making us hard to beat.

Fulham must be a seriously good bet for an away win on the opening day.
It’s nailed on 3 points for them

The transfer fee thing has been explained a load of times now in that they’re offering small amounts up front and most teams won’t accept it so the money isn’t disappearing they just can’t get most teams to accept what they offer. Wages is probably a similar thing because don’t forget some players have come in some will have automatic increases every year and some have come back from loans and back into the wage bill. I agree about gross mismanagement though without a doubt.

That just sounds like the club making an excuse to me. They need to back the manager right now, and stop making excuses.

The whole clubs wont accept small initial payments doesnt make sense.

We are expected to believe that the clubs get as far as payment options and then suddenly Everton says "We cant afford that, sorry", it stinks to me.

Where is the volume of stories saying Everton are in talks with clubs?

Instead its pondering, mulling and debating.

The greatest trick the devil ever played was pretending there was no money.

Where's the empty piggy bank bill?

It's a line fed to journos and ITKs because the club isn't willing to spend. Most transfers are done in installments these days. It points to two things Moshiri has pulled in his investment on anything other than the stadium, poor commercial returns and a unwillingness to spend until prices go down nearer the end of the window. The rest is spin if you ask me.

Gomes, Dele and Gbamin all back from loan and needing to be paid for. Lampard and team had to be paid off, the board had to be paid off, Dyche got is win bonus, stadium to fund. We have not got a pot to urinate in. It is loans and frees unless we find clubs willing to backload deals so small initial down payments or we manage to sell more players
We'd have been paying the vast majority of their wages when they were out on loan though, look at the clubs they went to. No chance Lille and Besiktas were paying Gomes or Dele close to the £120k p/w they're on here, also wasn't Gbamin in Russia, same story.

With all that said it still makes no sense to me how we're not spending anything. I can't help but think it's simply Moshiri waiting on the MSP deal so that he doesn't have to go into his own pocket. If they invest in us and we suddenly start spending then it'll be an utter disgrace as it would show point blank that the owner and chairman simply do not care about what's best for the club, not that we needed that to be confirmed again as we all know it's true.

Then begs the question why are the club so reluctant to spend? If the money is there, why not spend it? For as much of a charlatan Kenwright is I still can't work out why he and Moshiri would be so unwilling to better the playing squad.

Maybe you're right, who knows, I don't believe the money is there personally. No surprise it's completely dried up since we had to sever ties with Usmanov.

Our squad as it is struggles to stay up there's no elephant we are starting straight at it, we stayed up by the skin of our teeth two seasons running and haven't strengthened beyond Danjuma and a 38 year old full back, that's why everyone is so concerned

Some good news at last.

Apparently we are deliberating making an initial indicative offer on an undisclosed player.

Alan Myers hasn’t denied it.

Theres no extra money any more, thats for damn sure.

But with the sales of Gordon, Kean and a few pennies on a few others we should have something to spend, even if we assume the Stadium swallowed a chunk.

I think the issue is The Chairman and DoF out of their depth and utterly incompetent.

As ive said in the past also, the first team squad is currently 24/25 players, from a business POV, you would want some OUTs before INs, so I suspect we are waiting to see who we can ship.

All in all, its a complete farce, but Thank God we retained Kenwright.
