The ‘dream’ of course is still to pursue the Dia for Maupay deal if that’s actually on the table. You’re not bloating the position and get a pacey striker to rotate when Dom is inevitably injured. I can see is selling Dom so moving forward you’d have Dia and the Portuguese lad as the 2 main options to build around.

Probably pipe dream, but some sort of pace is still needed in the attack, be it tete, Iling-junior, gnoto (just to use prior mentioned names)
The Dia deal makes sense because it fixes 2 problems, most importantly a recognised experienced striker but also it gets Maupay out.

I don’t think we probably have the money for Dia outright and I think we’d struggle to sell Maupay so again a deal like this just makes perfect sense. I’ve seen that Dia can maybe play out right too, would be a very sensible option.

Like you said I’d like another fast wide man but I think the best we can hope for is someone like Dia that can maybe play multiple positions. Other than that it’ll be like Tete or Adama Traore on a free (both of which I’d take honestly)

No hint at the price from anyone?
From the link on GOT front page.

"Despite having a contract running until 2027 with a release clause believed to be in the region of €80m (£69m), the teenager could leave for a figure of €20m (£17m) this summer according to the report".

I know Thelwell gets a lot of grief on here and he should over the striker things but I think our recruitment strategy so far has been exactly what it should be last summer and this one. Signing a mixture of young players with lots of potential and experienced pros.

Apparently that €15m + 10% sell on report from the Portuguese source is reliable according to Sporting fans so I’d trust it’s around that. £12m.

Here’s Bobble confirming now too, think the wording here with “up to” probably means it’s got a few add ons. Might only be paying £7m-£10m and then the rest based on performance or something.

Worth up to £12.8m, not a bad fee at all if he turns out to be a good player.
