Might be $500mil not including player sales.

I wonder what the net is since Moshiri came in...cant be too high.
In January 2023 the Guardian estimated the net spend under Moshiri at £300 million. £700m spent Vs £400m recouped.
No idea how accurate that is. Sounds about right.

to be fair to Spurs, they deserved the attention due to the Poch era and Kane's achievements. now its the likes of Brighton and of course Newcastle. we are unloved and poor, and deservedly so.
Spurs have always been media darlings for some reason. The footy journos of the day were gutted when we beat them in the 95 semi final.

Everton have become the modern day version of Sunderland, good history in the 20th century and a loyal fanbase but useless to to the media and press as we never achieve anything or have any high profile players.

And what Moshiri has bought he has recouped a great deal of it back, when the media talk about how much Everton splurged in those first 4 years of Moshiri they never include that. I would love to know what our nett spend is for the 7 years Moshiri has been here, I think a lot on here would be surprised how low it is.
There was only one big splurge in Koemans first season. Obviously and in relative terms, we spent and wasted a significant amount in the seasons after but the individual transfer fees were mostly quite modest. The issues were elsewhere as everyone knows. It was the cumulative effect of one bad signing after another with nothing coming in the other way.

I remember Chelsea spent well in excess of £100m in 2003, fully 20 years ago. I recall being awe-struck by that at the time. But they spent it well. Our "splurge" was 13 years later much reduced in relative terms, and done badly.

Sounds about right, the figures do look distorted due to the first 3 years when Moshiri went nuts spending what we couldn't account for. But £300m over 7 years in the Premier league is chicken feed, less than £50m a season. The manager situation is an absolute joke, that's cost us a pretty penny, that's poor ownership and a poor weak Chairman.

If you don't have sovereign backing or belong to the clutch of organically wealthy clubs, then you have to be very well-run to manage. It's not even being well-run to compete, as your players will be picked off. We have spent virtually nothing. It just shows how enormous the gap is.

I think people would be shocked of how much cash he has actually pumped into the club and stadium build.

He will be making a massive loss on us when he eventually sells up.

Iwobi needs to be sold this summer too. Out of contract next summer and I wouldn’t be rushing to extend his deal.
Wouldn't be surprised if the club offered to extend his contract by way of 'maintaining his value', which unfortunately is only about £2m anyway. Like you said, needs to be gone asap. I give him 2/10 for his entire time at Everton. Disgusting signing.

There was tentative links between Chelsea and Onana as recently as June. It was Sacha Tavolieri, I believe. He was the guy who broke the Onana to Everton news BTW.
Chelsea definitely have longstanding interest in Onana. But I imagine they’ll quickly wrap up Adams and Lavia for a combined 70m, which is far better than paying 111m for Caicedo anyway.

If anyone does fancy Onana that Caicedo number has just put the price up by at least 20m.

It is very surprising that even though Southampton , Leeds and Leicester went down they seem to have more valuable ,saleable assets than us.
I suppose that says a lot about the job Dyche did last season.
