From the Beeb’s report on Brighton/Luton:

Six new signings were handed debuts on the south coast - goalkeeper Thomas Kaminski, wing-backs Ryan Giles and Issa Kabore, midfielder Tahith Chong, centre-back Mads Andersen and striker Jacob Brown - but their summer spending has totalled just £17m.”

What would Everton do? Nothing like that.

We are surely the worst run club in the league now.
Didn't they lose 4-1?

Might be an idea if you bought someone who can score goals guys... Just a thought.(repeats the same thing for three seasons in a row)....
They didn’t even need to buy a striker, you’re not telling me between them these clowns could not scour world football to come up with either a loan or free transfer that is at least an upgrade on the very lowest bar that is Neal Maupay.

Yeah, but my point was that the littlest club in the big league managed to make a load of signings in one window while we’ve failed to secure a new striker in three.

I mean, I could have picked a better result but we all know Luton won’t survive anyway 😂

But the players they have signed aren't good. The number of players is pretty irrelevant. The actual quality of players they have brought in wouldn't have helped us one bit today.

£17 million of rubbish though?

I don’t think the number of players is irrelevant but Luton were trying to improve their squad, not ours. They managed to find six players they thought did that (they might have been beaten 8-1 without them, who knows?).

We need better players than the ones they’ve bought but we don’t seem to be able to negotiate with other clubs sufficiently to change our prospects up front. If we’re waiting for a ‘guaranteed improvement’ on Maupay, that’s not going to happen on our budget. We should have at least been bringing in loans to give us a shot of getting away from the relegation places sooner rather than later.
