Adams and Gnonto could've both been signed for under £40m in June, easily. Instead we've waited for Leeds to lose half their squad which makes them reluctant to sell again and we've waited for Adams to start the Championship really well making him harder to replace for Southampton. We've easily added £10m onto the combined fees just by waiting around.

I think closer to deadline day if no other clubs are in for Maguire then he'd come to us, he won't play for United and he'll start every week for us, he knows full well he won't go to the Euros after another year of not playing and that's what's most important for him. We'd be mad not to throw everything at getting him.
Unfortunately we haven’t a pot to wee in June
& it depends where they where on the list transfer targets.

Adams was probably not even 3rd choice
Gnonto I believe is first choice but with new owners & complete basket Leeds is they where never letting gnonto go! Only know after all the fuss there slowly caving, reminds me of us with Chelsea over Gordon last season!

Man Utd are struggling with ffp & can’t see them willing to pay harry wages, I mean location could play a part & if he’s desperate by deadline day it’s a possibility for sure, I just think 🤔 he’ll get better offers or think where to low for him.

I’m not sure adding a winger and striker to the team does much for that performance last weekend. Of course games can change when you take chances and we definitely need more depth and quality upfront, but the defence and midfield are terrible. Keane and Gueye need to come out the team, they’ve been key parts of too many terrible Everton teams that have been easy to carve open.

At this point now, i would be seeing if United want a deal for Maguire & mctominay for Onana.

People are guna scream at me, but how ppl cant see that Maguire would become our best defender by a mile.

Agree. Both walk into our team and instantly look our best player.

Everton could do a lot worse than buy the young lad sat on the opposition bench yesterday, Cameron Archer. Villa willing to let him leave to continue his development (but with a buy back clause), is a natural finisher and would cost about the same as Adams. If he linked up with Danjuma, think the goal threat would improve heaps...
My mate who is a Villa fan has been raving about him...wanted Watkins off in favour of Archer as soon as their 2nd went in

Boils my wee that we have the money but we are pennypinching transfers for a team that SHOULD have been relegated TWICE now.

This F-ING BOARD

Oh good. we've learned nothing from our Icelandic purchase.

We deserve to be down here. zero acumen from the Hierarchy
Well we got £40mil for Gordon which where all saying it was overpriced technically we’d be up £10mil & gnonto not a bad deal when you put it like that.

Good morning and welcome to the 21st of August Everton transfer update.

Everton are closing in on the £15m signing of Southampton's 27-year-old Scotland forward Che Adams. (Telegraph - subscription)

Saudi Arabian side Al-Shabab have reached a verbal agreement with Everton to sign 27-year-old Jamaica winger Demarai Gray. (Fabrizio Romano). There could be a problem for Everton in terms of replacing him, though. They have already signed Jack Harrison on loan from Leeds United, but have been aiming to get Wilfried Gnonto to follow him. Yet according to the Daily Mail, talks between Everton and Leeds for Gnonto have collapsed after four unsuccessful offers by the Toffees.

Everton could make yet another bid for Leeds United’s Wilfried Gnonto, as per Football Transfers, in a bid which could yet rise to £30million. The latest came in at around £25million and Sky Sports say that Gnonto subsequently handed in a transfer request, with the player having been exiled from the first-team amid this ongoing saga and Football Transfers are now saying that Sean Dyche’s Everton could make what should be a final bid for the Leeds man this week, with the Toffees apparently ready to spend closer to £30million on the Italian.

Everton talks with Leeds United over a potential deal for star forward Wilfried Gnonto have collapsed, with the Toffees having made four offers for his services, according to the Daily Mail. In the print edition of the newspaper [21 August, pg 61], it was shared that, despite the attacker handing in a formal transfer request at Elland Road, his club will refuse to sell him at any price as he is not for sale this summer.

Everton forward Dominic Calvert-Lewin has now sent a message to fans after being taken off through injury at Villa Park yesterday. Taking to Instagram, Calvert-Lewin posted a message to fans via his story, stating:

“Didn’t expect to end up here. I’m sorry it wasn’t the return everyone was hoping for and no one is more frustrated than me. It’s a sore one but I’ll be back shortly.”

Everton are interested in signing Troyes striker Mama Balde after seeing their £12million offer for Che Adams rejected, talkSPORT understands. Burnley and Sheffield United are also in the running for Balde, who is believed to be available for around £7m.

Well we got £40mil for Gordon which where all saying it was overpriced technically we’d be up £10mil & gnonto not a bad deal when you put it like that.
true. but we could get Bakayoko AND that Iling-Junior AND have £5-10m left over. And honestly I couldn't tell you who the best of those 3 is.

so if we put it like that...

(I'd normally take your point - because it is a good point, but I'm in a bad mood lol)
