The problem with your thesis, is that yes whilst we will hit a comparatively run of good form, we will also revisit our baseline of poor form….you really don’t want to be playing catch up, as there is less margin for error. We have just lost the opening three games, two of which are at home to teams many would consider to be beatable. It is only right that people have concerned as this is not a flash in the pan, we have been like this for two years. This is far worse than the 90s struggles we experienced.
Don't get me wrong I'm pretty down and pretty disheartened but it's important to remember this isn't the same as the "yeah, but if Dom gets fit...." scenario of recent years. When you have DCL, Beto, Harrison, McNeil and Iwobi to come in plus any further signings then really these last three games ought to be as bad as it gets. Collectively those players raise your floor because they give you options when attacking players are injured and out of form, options we've not had the last two years.

Personnel wise we should be a good bit better than the last two years, if they don't perform on that level that's down to the manager and the players, and that's miles away from a given, but I guess it's a glimmer of hope.

I feel like I'm taking crazy pills. The midfield is horrendous.
Yeah I keep seeing people say we need 2 Strikers.

I dont think we do.

DCL defies medical science, then we have 2 Strikers on the bench and Iwobi and Doucs starting games.
DCL is injured, then we have 1 Striker playing, 1 Striker on the bench and Iwobi and Doucs starting games.

I said last season that we could have Haaland up top and he would be feeding on scraps, we need a midfielder who can pass a football.

Taps sign.

We reap what we sow in terms of the quality of the side. Utterly negligent to have gone through this many windows without getting in a CF, Rondon must be the last one and that was grim in itself.

Anyway on a positive note glad he dropped Keane, and impressed he gave Dobbin a go too. Think we'll pick up with a striker and few of the injured lot back.

We are absolutely screaming out for someone that can link up play in the middle of the pitch but I get the feeling that SD would rather bypass that option anyway and focus elsewhere.

Big, big week for the club coming up.

I think you need to adjust to the fact that you can no longer throw money around like confetti. Clubs that can’t do that - and we’re most definitely one - tend to leave business late as there’s a strong chance you’ll end up paying a fair bit less than if you did the deal mid-summer when the player and selling club still have time and options. What you might save doing it this way can be the difference between getting a second player in or not.

We’ve operated like this for years - we’ve had an attack including Schlupp and Ayew for the first 3 games which is just as bad, if not worse than yours. That’s just the reality of where you’re at now, in fact I’m amazed you’ve even got £25m for Beto, we’ll be lucky to get a £12m striker.
Was nothint to do with us throwing money around, the club had money to spend this window. We have went it without getting the most important position having not had a cf ready for the season. Dont mind if we waited the last week or so to fill up the squad with more. But you have to bring in a postion you really needed at the start of the season, we have lost 6 points because of not being ready

Is ther anything still in adams maybe looking at him to play the 10 position?
I'd be surprised if that's how we allocated any money we've got left but you never know I guess, maybe Dyche does want to get closer to his more traditional 442. I took "pillar and post" here to suggest he thought he was coming here but maybe now has been told it's off, and that's why his head wasn't ready for today, but who knows.
