Maybe, just maybe, someone decided that in the scheme of things, Beto is a first XI option and Adams is a squad player, and therefore priorities are set.

Maybe for squad players we have a ceiling that we don't want to breach, so play hard ball, even though the fan base whinges about not getting players in.

Is strange that have got a deal for beto at that price, could just have been a back up while we had talks with beto incase that deal fell thru. Will be interesting to see what other deals we can do
