It is and always has been very hit and miss.

For every Bowen there's a Keane Lewis-Potter, every Johnson there's an Adam Armstrong etc etc.

I mean KLP has been injured so I won't judge him but did Armstrong look great in the Championship? I know he scored goals but that's not the same. Chopra used to.

He scored goals but never stood out massively, always found it odd the way he got a PL move over certain others.

There is a thing in squad building/recruitment known as the 'hotdog analogy' Basically the bun represents your homegrown/domestic players who form the spine of your squad. You then add the meat to it for some substance and to bulk out the rest of the squad with foreign players (Euro based) Now you can leave it like that but most people want a bit of sauce (Mustard, Ketchup) to give it a bit of something to top it off and that represents your rest of the world players like South Americans, Africans, Asians and so on. Maybe you are onto something here mate.

Who scores the odd goal. And from the bench , that odd goal , just might win us a few more matches. It’s a risk with any striker . Who knows . Morelos could be anything. But maybe , just maybe , with better players around him , and some decent service , he could be decent. I’d take a chance on him , for the right price. Get him for the right price , and we can always sell him on , maybe even for a profit. It’s all a punt anyhow. Would he be any worse than those wonderful recent striker purchases that we have made , M. Kean and Maupay. Anyhow , I’d take a punt on him. As a squad player.
