Listening to the Business matter podcast and others, there is going to be no money available so we are back to the Jo's and the Straq territory signings now, so people turning the nose up at Wieghorst and the likes are in for a bit of a shock this summer I think UTFT!
Not In for a shock if we sign weghorst we’re battling until the end of the season again no shock there.

I think an enormous part of this is that we are a team who have played with 3 in midfield for this whole period (more or less) and we completely lack actual sitting midfielder, one who is positionally aware and can sit in front of the defence. For everyone who clamoured last summer to suggest that Gana would be this player for us, he isn't and he never has been. He's an aggressive ball winner and he's great at it, but he doesn't screen a defence like a true number 6 (take Joao Paulinha at Fulham as an example). In the system we play, the way the midfield has been constructed is an issue to me and, despite Dyche's best efforts (where it has improved tbf), the gaps between midfield and defence are still an ongoing problem and when that happens and it's exploited, the issue you're both highlighting is suddenly brought to the fore, you're left with a defence who have to react. I still see it as fundamentally our biggest defensive issue.
You know footy

We need a proper 6 as one of the main priorities

That’s utter rubbish. You can pick out a save and I can pick a soft one he let in. Or like at Bournemouth the one he threw into his own net.

He’s a good keeper end of. Doucoure’s goals, McNeil’s goals. Gana winning tackles, Tarkowski’s blocks and headers and Mina’s performances over the last 4 games all factors why we stayed up
If I was to pick any player over the season as a factor to staying up pickford would be top of that list easily. Maybe a full season under dyche and not that clown Lampard then possibly McNeil and Doucoure would top that list but I doubt it would of went to last game of the season of dyche was here all season.
