Summer transfer window 2023

I'd be wanting one no.9 + another who can play wide or upfront, similar to richarlison
We will probably see Mills come into the reckoning next season which will help in the wide positions.
More than anything I would like us to sign an attacking creative central midfielder who can score a few goals..... Kudus or a similar type player.

Giving a 30 year old a multiple year contract is an awful idea. They can pay us the transfer fee and the wages are still a bad idea and having to warehouse a guy when his legs inevitably go is bad too.
I'm not against a loan deal, or signing a veteran striker on a free. But £10m is not a good deal for us and we shouldn't be remotely interested at that price.

Looking at the squad based on which footballers will be under contract next year; according to transfermarkt, and I am filled with dread. I see a total of 4 names that you can rely on for a solid performance match to match.

Does anybody have any good news to help alleviate some concern?

With the current squad, with no striker and riddled with injuries we picked up 21 points from 18 games and that was after previously under Lampard losing at homes to team that any reasonable performance should have seen us pick up points.

Oor expectation for next season is to be comfortably safe and certainly there will be additions, even if they are free transfers which should make us stronger.

Honestly I don’t want us to buy a player for over £30m ever again.
Price tag means nothing mate. It's just a number. Sure I want us to be level headed in the transfer market and to try and get the best possible value from anyone we buy. Mostly though, I want us to bring in players for any money who can improve us as a team, and who are coming here for the right reasons.

What WOULD make a difference is an incentive based wage system. Just give a basic wage every week, bonuses if they play, and if the team wins, etc. Agreement in place to raise wages if we finish top four, and to lower wages if we're relegated.

Yeah, just 38 headed goals in total. Much less than Calvert-Lewin's 19 headed goals.

:coffee:

What? You don’t have to be good in the air to score headers from inside the 6 yard box. Have you got a compilation of all these amazing headers? Can’t wait til you actually watch him play.
