My concerns are based on Dyche's statement on pace and power,so few of the players currently under contract fit that profile and doubt there will be enough money available to address it with any hope of success. We don't know if Mina would have ever stayed whatever he was offered but Dyche stated he identified some of the main reasons why the injuries were happening and Mina did stay fit for the important run in games. Beginning to look as if Dyche is just saying what we want to hear without any hope of implementation. Hope I'm wrong.
It's a difficult one really. Being pragmatic, Dyche (and most managers) will throw sound bites out there to appease fans or to blur the reality of the situation.

I personally think that Dyche is probably saying what he wants - err, hopes - will be the profile of player that the club go for, now and in the long term.

That's what we will be aiming for. Yet, we need to be mindful that the limitations of the squad and our current financial predicament may mean...

...this isn't completely fulfilled. I think the club wanted Mina to say, however the reality is he may want to look elsewhere for a multitude of reasons.

If we really wanted him to stay, it would have cost us, and the club probably believe they can get a replacement in (perhaps not as good) for lower wages.

He's not a spring chicken either, so as I said it's balancing plates and the books. That's why this is a difficult situation. Dyche will want pace and power.

Dyche will want to bring in players that will help ensure we're not in the same mess as the past two seasons, but whether it's the outcome is the question.

My biggest worry is that we have so many parts of the squad that we need developing, but there simply isn't the money and whatnot to fix them all.

We need to focus on a striker and more attacking options, but we can't be complacent as defensively and in goal we're worse off already.

McTominay is a good player but it's obviously the wrong market to be shopping in.

Utd will want a decent fee and we need to be spending what money we have on a striker.

If we've really been told 30m for Beto/Toure, we aren't likely to get a deal over the line for a half decent striker for less than that.

I reckon we could find a decent centre mid for 5-10m, but with that said we don't even need to sign a centre mid at all unless Onana is sold imo.

You mean the normal person's view that he's crap or the Roberto Martinez's "head up his own arse" view that he's the best footballing talent in the country?
Might be unfair to call him crap, as I haven’t paid too much attention to him, but he just strikes me as a proper plodder, someone who’s just there and wouldn’t necessarily add anything that we need.

A striker capable of hold up play in Dcl absence, braithwait back… Dyche has us safe in with 4 games to go.
Chris wood or wout weghorst aren’t sexy signings but would be decent additions.
I quite like the look of the South Korean Cho in the World Cup, top goal scorer in the k league, would be riskier but we aren’t capable of spending big.

If there's any truth to this (and this guy usually chats utter wham), then this would be outrageously poor by the club again. Not good enough, too expensive, too old (especially for the cost) and having to sell, only to reinvest in dross.

Looks like Everton just aren't going to learn any lessons about how to run a football club.
It would make you wonder who actually buys the players if this is true. I am not saying that a succession of different DoFs and managers can’t buy from Utd, but if true, it would appear it’s still the ‘local convenience store’ for the profile of player we go for despite changing managers/DoFs regularly which suggests this is being driven by one or two constant people at the club.

I like McTominay and think he would be a good player for us, can play a bit of CB too if needed. If we could sell Onana for 60, buy him for 20-25 and put the rest towards forwards it would be good business.

The problem there is it requires an offer to come in quickly for Onana to get things moving. He might go this summer but imo he is probably on a few shortlists but not top of them so we probably don’t get bids until the likes of Caicedo and Rice sort their futures out. Hopefully we don’t get into a logjam waiting for the dominoes to fall.
