Given that Forest paid £42.5 million for MGW I'd say that it would be more than that mateProbably talking 80m for those 2?

Agree but problem is we need players in so many different positions. No wingers around the £20 million mark.
Priority is at least 2 strikers,
We had our chance and blew itMore and more its difficult to sign up top prospects younger, the bigger the club, the cheaper they often can be - City can sign someone like Alvarez for 18 million, Everton cant. If we signed him we'd have to pay about 10 million more and more in wages to attract him. Chelsea are busy hoovering up huge swaths of young players for significant relative fees for two to three years time. There used to be a time we could get a meal in that market, the bigger clubs are now cracking it. The more limited your budget the higher the risk of doing it also.
We had our chance and blew it
Pickford is 29 and this is perhaps the last summer we get a big fee for him.Silly to sell Pickford if we stay up, as he'll be one of the key reasons that we did - similar to Richarlison last year.
Each year, we sell our best assets we just get closer to relegation.
What's the point in taking the money and it going out the door again on two gambles that increase our wage bill overall.
It's the sort of dumb maths that got us here. Pay half, buy twice (but increase the wage bill).
If he wants to go and we get good money, fine but we should build the team around our better players.
Theres only so many teams that would want or need those players. We dont know how much there is to spend or if sales are going to add to any budget.Zat do you honestly think that if Forest go down that we could afford Johnson and / or MGW and more importantly of all the options that they would have that either or both would choose Everton.
I know you love this transfer stuff but at least try to be a bit realistic matey.
?Ohh and we aren't allowed to spend any money
In dream land if you think we can attract any of these 3.
The likes of Newcastle, Villa, West Ham just to name 3 will be in far better positions both structually & financially to court these players.
Forest beat us to Gibbs White last summer for god's sake
I will just keep England #1 instead of going for these unknown keeper.Considering where things were in relation to the real potential he could leave on a free, I would welcome anything at or north of 30 million. Funds are scarce and considering his age he's better use as funds than on the pitch. Factor other Prem clubs likely looking to address Keeper, it would be wise to sell him if we stay up or not.
Quick draft of possible prospect replacements. Fees via Transfermarkt.
Alban Lafont, France, 24, Nantes, 20 million
One of the most touted Keeper prospects in the world right now, so may be a stretch for us. That said with Nantes possibly going down and a move seeming inevitable its the first place to call.
Lucas Chevalier, France, 21, Lille, 10 million
Since Maignan left Lille has had a seamless transition to their youth product. Has grown even more this season. I would think a reasonable target especially if we stay up and can offer number one seat.
Michele Di Gregorio, Italy, 25, Monza, 7 million
The inter youth product has been great with promoted Monza. With a crazy workload in their scheme has shown himself one of the best young Italian keepers.
Bart Verbruggen, Holland, 20, Anderlecht, 5 million
Almost moved to Burnley before they went with Muric. Another year in Belgium and he's excelled earning a Dutch call up. Would seem a viable target.

If Pickford goes - a replacement keeper.
If Seamus retires/ is let go a back up RB
If we manage to shift Holgate and / or Keane / Godfrey then at least 1centre back ( assuming that Branthwaite comes back and we don't sign Coady)
A new LB
A creative midfielder
RW
2 strikers.
Ohh and we aren't allowed to spend any money
Not against Pickford sale if finances dictate but would rather take a punt on an experienced old head for a couple of seasons. For Leeds and Saints their young keepers have been factors in why they are struggling no doubt. I recall Nigel Martyn coming in as a safe pair of hands back in the day got a couple of years. Someone like thatPickford is 29 and this is perhaps the last summer we get a big fee for him.
If we could bring in an average (but high potential to improve) u23 aged keeper and bank £30mil+ to spend on a player for another position it makes sense.
Theres only so many teams that would want or need those players. We dont know how much there is to spend or if sales are going to add to any budget.
?
Would he be any worse than those wonderful recent striker purchases that we have made , M. Kean and Maupay.
Didn’t read a word after you mentioned Bazunu. He’s been utterly horrific at Southampton.Fair point, thanks for clarifying.
I dont see that as a great deal. If however we could bring in Bazunu and bank £30mil+ then it makes sense.
Exactly my thinking. Focus on 2 top young players that add goals.
Should do.
GIbbs-White + Johnson would be ideal if Forest were to go down. Both can play wide, up top or behind the striker.
Then put what they have in a pot with sales and split it towards the best two young forward players we can afford.
Good player and would be competing with Branthwaite in that position. Lavia, Bazunu id take from Southampton if we made sales.
lol im nothing if not consistent.
The young players listed for low fees werent oven ready. However young goalscoring centre forwards and attacking players in general cost alot of money when theyre already 'proven' to be able to impact top level games.
Theres a difference with signing, Stones, DCL, Branthwaite and signing Brennan Johnson or Morgan Gibbs-White.
Who scores the odd goal. And from the bench , that odd goal , just might win us a few more matches. It’s a risk with any striker . Who knows . Morelos could be anything. But maybe , just maybe , with better players around him , and some decent service , he could be decent. I’d take a chance on him , for the right price. Get him for the right price , and we can always sell him on , maybe even for a profit. It’s all a punt anyhow. Would he be any worse than those wonderful recent striker purchases that we have made , M. Kean and Maupay. Anyhow , I’d take a punt on him. As a squad player.
