Do you think Thelwell knows this fella from his time in the states? Seems a hugely sensible approach and long overdue to me ….

Unless I’m mistake, money balling has got a lot harder since brexit. We can’t go and buy some underrated French second division player now. They need to qualify for visa which usually mean international appearances or proven pedigree. Hard to claim that when paying buttons for someone.
Digging out Kante and Mahrez like Leicester did is close to impossible

Onana ?

Brighton don't seem to have a problem picking up these type of players.

Onana wasn’t peanuts. But you are right about Brighton doing well

The GBE will operate a points-based system, where points are scored for senior and talented young players based on:
• Senior and youth international appearances
• Quality of the selling club, based on the league they are in, league position and progression in continental competition
• Club appearances, based on domestic league and continental competition minutes

Players accumulating the requisite amount of points will earn a GBE automatically, while players just below the threshold may be considered for a GBE by an Exceptions Panel.

Once we stay up, I think we need to add a few key players.

LB and ST are priorities.

Mykolenko has a good game here and there but we need a more offensive balance. Potentially we have Nkounkou who has been on loan with Cardiff and more successfully Saint-Etienne but he is still very raw but perhaps a pre-season we could save a fee for a new player if he doesn't get sold before.

DCL had proved in these short how vital he is to our game but injuries are piling up so we need a backup. We have Simms and Cannon who still a bit green so we need an experience forward who will complement our play.

It's easier to get work permits now

I'm reading people like Pickford and Onana on the radar of other clubs. We know financially we're a mess. But we can't be selling again. We sold Richie and look what trouble that landed us in. We really can't keep selling the family silver.

The irony even though it's been a sh 💩 season, against Brighton there was a really good team out there. You find a formua. We need to add to the players not take away. Otherwise every season is 2 steps forward 3 steps back.

Yes. He's worse than them players IMO.
Doesn't do anything against bigger clubs, goes missing in big games.

Id rather give Simms game time.
Ok. You don’t rate Morelos. No problem. I really only mentioned him as a back up striker , from the bench. And only if the price was right , less than £10m would do. And as for not turning up in big matches , have you not noticed that in recent seasons , that Rangers , have a habit of not turning up in big matches. Morelos just might turn up , with better players around him.
And yes , I agree , we need to see more of Ellis Simms. But who really knows .
If I knew for sure , how a footballer was going to turn out , I’d be advising Mr.Dyche. It’s all pot luck anyhow.
Ps. I don’t underestimate Scottish football. It’s a better standard than most people think. IMO.

Do you not see the contradiction here, pal? We can't add if we're in a financial mess. Well, we can, but they won't likely be the quality we desire.

Yes.

But we have to be careful. We can't keep selling to bail out the failures elsewhere. The fact is losing someone like Richarlison aided by the loss of DCL for most of the season has left us in the relegation mire, no goals. Also no talisman. Thankfully Dwight McNeil has improved his game. But it's been a bad season (not just down to Lampard). To take away the limited quality we have is very risky indeed.

Agree is a massive risk selling dcl will need two quality cf then. I still want a cf and a wide forward like rich who could play as a cf. can we really afford to sell more attackers who start apart from gray and maupay

Ok seeing the positives.

He's going for free and won't be on astronomical wages. Plus he's colombian and Everton have said they want to expand into the South American market commercially. He's got tons of shthousery about him that the squad lacks. Hopefully his 8 red cards at Rangers has taught him lessons.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if we get him tbh.

But he needs about six chances at goal.

Edit - Rangers have scored over 80 goals in SPL and Morelos has only scored 11 of them.
