Don’t let Sky Sports propaganda fool you, brighton may be in europa next season, but they’ll be in the championship within 5 years after all their stars are poached. Everton will always be a bigger club than Brighton
It is kinda funny how in the media everyone who’s finished in the “top 6” now is considered a big club straight away, even those that didn’t but got close. Literally even take all the history and everything out of it and it still makes no sense.

Spurs, Newcastle and Brighton have all won a packet of crisps between them in about 60 years but are all big clubs now, Villa are “awoken” and have reclaimed their status as a big club, all these except Spurs are after literally one decent season.

Everton spend basically all of the 2000s until 2020 as a European challenging top 4th-7th team in the league, yet we’re treated as some insignificant relegation fodder by the media. No one will ever be able to convince there’s not a clear media bias against Everton, I don’t know why but it’s so obvious. Maybe I’m too young to know but did we as a club genuinely do anything to deserve this in our history?

As long as we have the most top flight seasons and are still in the top 6 for titles won their top6 marketing mix has an off taste to it. It won't stop anytime soon I reckon

It doesnt matter what we did in the 80s, its 2023 and we are a club that has survived relegation twice in 2 years, we last won a trophy in 1995, thats ALMOST 30 years ago, its a whole generation.

All I read about is how the media dont respect us, you know who else they dont respect, 2 times European Cup winning Forest, do you know why? Cos they arent relevant in 2023, nobody cares about them.

I dont think we get the rum deal from the media as most, personally, when we do something, something worth talking about, they talk about us, they use words like sleeping giant, they mention our long-standing stay in the top flight, so I think we get our props. But why would they big up us currently? Talk us up?

You mentioned Villa, they finished the season like a train, they have a good manager, owners willing to invest, they are a club currently on the up, they will be bigged up.

I think our average league placing since the inception of the Premier League is 11th, we arent a top 6 club, we havent finished in the Top 6 since 2014.

In short, the media will "champion" the clubs who are deemed worthy.

Newcastle with their massive investment, CL next season, worthy.
Brighton a team that recycles their players and still performs, worthy.
Villa, as I said, good manager, willing owners, worthy.
Everton, relegation fodder, Chairman dressing up as Spiderman like a jarg Fathers for Justice and hanging on to the club hes killed with everything hes got, NOT worthy.

I love/hate Everton and even I wouldnt big them up, what possible reasons would anybody have to say anything positive about a club that was relevant in a time in which the only Sky people knew was in the, well, Sky.

As for your last comment, about being young, I hope this doesnt come across as me being an arsehole, but I do feel sorry for your generation, I was lucky, the younger me saw us win the lot, well, not the BIG thing, but we all know the reasons for that. And then that slime said we have had good times. Utter joke. But that doesnt mean I dont suffer, seeing this great club on its knees, existing, thats all we do now, exist and we were a goal or 2 away from not even doing that a month ago.

The road to the top again for this club, well, its blocked, there is no road to the top, for now. So just try and take pleasure from the good things we do and attempt to block out the bad, not easy, I know, cos theres so much freaking bad. But theres still nothing like walking out of Goodison with 3 points, for me anyway.

Soz for wall of text.

WAIT A MINUTE.

Gyokeres is 25????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

LOL

Cancel this transfer this instant.

I thought he was some promising young player with potential.

lol

Simms has had his chance the manager will have seen him in training ect if he feels he is not good enough is fine with me. Simms is the type of player we have held on to for to long in the past. Atleast this time we can finally make some money off, i just hope that is a sign of strikers coming in. Never seen the lad from coventry play but has been his name and beto who have been linked since last season.

Has Simms' move actually been confirmed anywhere? Last i saw was £3.5mil offer from Ipswich a week back.

The question about Harrison shouldn't be "does he improve us now?" The question should be "in 3 years will he be at the level we want the team to be at after 3 years of properly rebuilding the squad?" The answer for me is firmly no and as such he shouldn't be considered really at any price but certainly not at a big chunk like 15m.

Totally disagree!, in three years we might be in the Championship with a new stadium playing kids who MIGHT make it in?

Daft!, look at the mix we had when we signed Gareth Barry, youth and experience, that what we should be aiming for now

I mean that particular transfer strategy was the beginning of all this because you had the likes of Gareth Barry (who I loved having here don't get me wrong) coming to the end of their career instead of getting better and building season upon season.

Getting Rom papered over a lot. We bought Kone and Alcaraz in that same window. None signed a second contract here. Sure maybe a mix is good but the mix should be more along the lines of 5 players under 25 for every old dude. We signed Gueye and Tarkowski last summer so the old dude quote is filled up.

I don't think the bias is Everton per se, rather an absolute obsession with the rs. The media is infested with cult fans, dissing us earns them brownie points with all the mutants, promoting ‘smaller‘ clubs up to their fabled ‘top 6’ simply allows them to brag how successful the shagite are against top 6 rivals ( until they arent successful, then there is radio silence).

Simms is a good deal if we get 4/5 mil for him, wouldn’t be paying 25 for Gyokeres though let the Portuguese have him for that price.

You have blue tinted glasses on so will always be biased about us.

The reality is the media are going to talk high about current teams doing well during the current season.

Yet some people expect the media to talk constantly about our past?? Even worse some think the media, premier league, VAR and refs are conspiring together to try and relegate us???

Reality is we are crap and the majority of fans from all clubs think the media has it in for them as they are all biased about the club they support.

My 14yo reckons he is ITK, just sent me this "Did you here we could be signing a Leeds duo of Wilfred gnonto and Jack harrison".

I think Harrison is an upgrade on likes of Iwobi so yep, but Gnonto is shorter and angrier than MrsB (both take some doing) so I'd swerve.
