They finished 9th under Potter last season.

Tony Bloom is the key for them. They use the data collected by his company for player recruitment. Even Brighton DOFs don't know how it's collected I think.
Yep. And left them for Chelsea when they were 4th.

Fair enough, I’ve thought he was good for a while now, since his last season at Stade. Think he would do well here, but to each their own
Yeah he's fine I guess but he isn't going to be free. He's not going to be sellable in a few years. He's not likely to improve. So maybe it's still worth it if he can get 10 goals but I'm not even totally sure he can because he doesn't shoot a lot. That means we're just at the mercy of whether the shots he takes go in. It's just not my favorite way to go about it.

By most accounts Wolves are running into much the same problems as us right now after year of chucking money about and letting an agent tell them what do do (sound familiar?). The Neves money is a bit of a rescue for them but realistically only just covers the crazy deal they struck for Cunha, for whom they have an obligation to buy for 45m this summer.

I'm not defending Everton but I think the way FFP is structured to protect certain clubs we are the first but not the last down the path we've been down, Wolves look to be next and I'm sure others will follow.
The talk last summer was they needed to sell players. They sold a few for about 50mil but spent something like 110mil and like you mentioned have 2 player on loan to obligation for over 50mil.

I find it mad how the talk is that villa will spend big this summer, yet they have something like a 370m debt on spending in 7yts compared to ours of about 220.

Yes I know we have paid bigger wages and paid off managers, but for 3 of those 7 yrs were spent in the championship. So must have lost over 150mil in TV money and sponsorship compared to us.

If we have actual real money to spend then we may as well just spend it.

The whole FFP stuff is an absolute shambles, what's the worst that can happen?

July 1st Chairman Bill releases his little blue book.

Millions massacred in the name of the Jersey Boys.

And we still get relegated because we’re ‘watching this space’ for a marquee signing …

Well actually any forward who can score more than once a year

And when we are languishing in the relegation zone next April we can always cheer ourselves up by watching Jenny Seagrove in Gaslight

Yes you are wrong. How can you write 303m in losses in 3 years, and then say "we're still gonna be crawling towards £105mill rolling 3 year losses"? We dont get to go backwards in time and 303m is WAY more than 105m. The only way ANY of that makes sense is if the FFP losses are nowhere close to the total accounts losses, which is literally what I've been saying. Again, if you don't understand how it works that's fine, but then stop pretending you do and needlessly confusing other people.

Chelsea lost something like 370m over 3 years, and no FFP violation. 370 is more than 105. Its because those numbers are not the important ones.

Totally agree that we are able to spend £50mil...i had it at £30-40mil but youve obviously gone more into the figures than my guess work.

Other better organised teams taking our targets away from us while we dither and delay and take weeks to sort out boardroom changes that were meant to take 48 hours? Surely not.
It looks that way: or we don't have the money (Beto, this lad, Gyokores) or we are waiting to be disappointed by free agents (Morelos if interested, Dembele). I have posted this before: we will turn to Weghorst ! No insides but my feeling. Not a high fee like 15-20m, less competition from other teams and Dyche rates him. It is bound to happen even if Myers denied it
