I know it’s probably unrealistic but it doesn’t look too crazy in terms of need/links that we could ended up with something like this to start the season. It’s suddenly a bit less bleak if we could even get something close to this done.

——————Dom——————
McNeil——-Ndiaye———Gnonto
———Garner——Onana———
New——Branth—Tarks——Coleman
——————Pickford———————

Bench would have more capable backups as well…Myko, Iwobi, Gana, Keane, Godfrey, Patterson, New Gk, New backup striker (Even someone cheap like Vasquez)…

Is that Gnonto right though at 25 million and only 5 foot 6, shouts Lookman to me (who was 5 foot 7) think there is better out there for less

We dont even know if Dyche rates him yet...lets just hope he develops him.
Would be shocked if dyche puts him in the first team this season. Just imo if we could get him a loan with match time hopefully develops him as he is already brtter than the u23

Genuine question though: is Balogun actually any good?

Although I watch a reasonable amount of Ligue 1, I haven't manage to catch many Reims games at all this year. Although he did score in at least one game I watched, he seemed to spend a lot of the game lazily backheeling and flicking the ball. Wasn't too impressed with him when I watched him for Boro the other year either.

Genuine question as, although the sample was small, I wasn't too impressed at all but his numbers are impressive this year.
A couple of thoughts.
1. I’ve not watched enough of him to know if he’s as good as the price tag suggests. I don’t watch much French league so have seen him maybe 5 times ever.
2. As a whole we should probably avoid making any final judgements of players based on how they perform when they’re 19 and on loan.

It is catch 22. I agree with the principle of what you are saying but when it comes to the end of the transfer window and the manager says he doesn't want a player and a club offer a loan that is worth maybe a million or two to the club's finances it would be difficult to say no.

Agreed, but loaning players before the window is even open means we have zero chance of being able to raise cash.

There will always be teams looking to Lon in the final week/last day so I’d rather try and sell our dross before we loan them out

Yes he's good but unproven in the prem

I've always wanted us to be signing young players. Just gathering opinions mate.

He’s 21 and spent his 20-21 year on loan in France where he scored a bunch. My guess is he moves for around 30mil with some silly add ons. He’d be a great get tbh but we’ll be priced out no matter what.

Waiting for someone with 50 or whatever Arsenal appearances gets you Alex Iwobi or a 60mil price tag…Balogun is the type we should target, just need to be bringing them in before they break out if possible.
Well that's the big difference isn't it? Where is our Balogun? Get these players before they cost north of 30m. Moise Kean seemed like a perfect deal for us too, at that age you never know how they will turn out. I suppose you can say that for any player at any age though.

I know he has done good numbers, but every time I've seen him and even in the YouTube highlights, I've been very "meh" about him

I worry that he's the kind of player who's been in the right place at the right time, had one year where everything has fallen for him and he's padded the numbers out with half a dozen penalties as well.

Just feel that without the context of any numbers, if you were a scout you'd watch him and not come away particularly impressed.

£30m could be better spent IMO
