Summer transfer window 2023

Unfortunately that's how it works especially with loan players as Players Agents will wait which offer is the best for their players, unless you one of the big clubs the majority of loans happen last week
You're correct there, and you can make a lot of impact with good loans. The thing is to balance them out with other business done beforehand. We need two forwards as we all know, I'd want both in by the start of the regular season but it may be that we're scrambling for one on deadline day, and you risk getting nothing then.

Loans are critical this summer, but for me I'd aim to focus them on the slightly less critical areas.

Any players we get in, have to be in for the pre season games and settled into a style of play before the 1st game of the season v Fulham.

We cannot waste fixtures like last season without a striker, you would hope this incompetent board would also know this ? 😉

Lol, come on mate. Everyone knows we will still be slumming it for loans on deadline day.

He should have been using Onana as a holding midfielder and paired him with Garner.

I think we can sell Simms, Gray and a centre back for an amount (plus Nkounkou/Stones clause) to be able to bring one of them in.

I'm not 100% sure. Gray would be a reasonable fee, but it needs to be done. Our issue is, we need a few players in too.

I also can't see us being able to sell a centre back for a fee.

If we make a "big" sale, there may be an opportunity to upgrade, but perhaps the club want to get at least 1 in if we don't make tha sale.

Yeah I agree with Onana/Garner, Doucoure is the strange one for me.. no doubt he was massive in helping us avoiding relegation but for us to move forward I don't think we can have a midfielder who does all his best work off the ball.
I think we need someone who will get Doucoure's goals but can also put his foot on the ball & hopefully create things aswell

It feels like there is a big sale coming. This may be followed by the familiar frustration of that money not being reinvested in the team

Sell a few, buy a couple, tie up a few loans at the end. Who could mess up such a simple formula?

Nope. Don't like him at all. Our fans vastly overstate his abilities.

The attacking scenarios you talk of were still without discernable patterns of play - it's just getting the ball into the box. The fact that he was preceeded by Lampard and Benitez should not excuse the fact he is a poor manager.

He came in and got our players fit and sorted the mentality out, fair play, but I think most people could do that if that was their sole focus. He didn't sort our defence and organisation out, is one of the most negative managers I have ever seen for substitutions and lives upto the stereotype of him by preferring to play useless senior pros over younger players who might still improve.

We only played well twice under him - Arsenal and Brighton.

The mad thing is that the three sides that went down were so bad that if Dyche hadn't have been so infuriating (making no subs when needed, continuing to play Michael Keane, refusing to use Mina, consistently using Maupay, preferring out of position CBs over Patterson until forced to use him etc.) we could have been safe weeks before the end of the season.

The thought of him having a say on our recruitment alongside Calamity Kev and Chairman Bill absolutely terrifies me. Our only model to get out of this cycle is to invest in and play talented young players and move them on. Not get journeymen footballers and we know which Dyche will prefer.
He came in when we were 2nd from bottom. Thelwell didn't provide him with any players and we sold Gordon. Not exactly great tools to play with when we had shown all season that these players are not very good.

Dyche had to work hard to get something out of this shabby lot of players and without key players for most of his tenure a record of P18 W5 D6 L7 is not bad considering. Every team we played under Dyche was above us in the league and he kept us up when it looked unlikely.

You have to forget his Burnley days as that was a constant battle for him due to lack of funds and he did a decent job there with hands tied behind his back.
What we learned from his time at Burnley is that Dyche can make the best of a bad lot. If Dyche ever gets decent funds here he may get us established again over a couple of seasons and I think that will be his remit....it has to be.

Depending on budget I think Dyche will have to shop in Lidl and that is not Dyches fault. He came to a calamity of a Club and did well to keep us up.
Deserves to be kept on no doubt.

For the rumoured £3-5 million Rodrigo is a decent option. He's not an out and out striker but will get more goals as an attacking midfielder than Doucoure but Doucoure offers more work rate.
Provided that we have a striker lined up I'd be happy for him to come in.

Don’t worry too much! He had a good half season under Dyche but his goal record for us is 9 in 84… that should be quite replaceable!

I think we all would like to have a classier attacking midfielder but I think there are more pressing priorities in the line up and we’ll probably have Doucoure play there for at least another season

I think he fits the way Dyche plays. I could imagine his goal ratio improves if he plays a full season in that set up. Wouldn’t hurt to get another in who can play that position too as he’s the only one we have

Football insider saying were offering blackburn either simms or maupay for Scott Wharton.

Makes no sense, unless its his younger brother.
